It's where the local main postoffice is now located not as beautiful or as old as the beautiful old building it was housed in all my life and before which is situated just next door. But it's a good shop with all you need to be found there on two floors but if stairs are problematic for you don't worry it has a good sized lift to take you

I bought a craft magazine which was marked at £5.99 but the auto payment machine wanted £7.99 So I had to go to a till and that wanted €7.99 but the cashier took £2.00. How many of your customers didn't realize they were being over charged???

The Post Office is within the store. The staff in there were most unhlepful when my daughter was trying to get her driving licence renewed. Didn't really have anything to do with WH Smith staff

I wanted to purchase a thin A4 4-ring binder, glass clear punched sleeves and a pack of fine-tipped wet erase markers. I came away with nothing and ended up purchasing online from elsewhere. Although having plenty of binders on the shelves they were all 2-ring binders except for some with large spines. No thin binders at all. The selection here was more about which colour to choose than finding a suitable ring binder. The wet erase markers were limited to a rather small selection of bullet tipped markers, too thick for my needs. After realising that I'm unable to purchase the required items I left without even bothering to look at the binder sleeves. By all means don't allow my review on my personal experience to put you off. Give WH Smith a look should you be after something as I believe it is important to support shops on the street. I simply could not give more than one star from my experience but I may well try them again for a future purchase.

It's been bothering me now for a couple of years but today was the final straw! There's a specialist magazine I buy and these guys are the only place in town where you could get it off the shelf. However, it's always been a case of hunting it down as they've never stocked it in the same place twice! Annoying to the max but at least I could dig one out after scouring the racks high and low.

The latest edition I was looking for though supposedly hit the shelves at the back end of January - but I'd been checking diligently since before publication date as the mag itself sometimes hits the newsstands earlier than expected - but it's been a no-show for the last three weeks. Today, when I was finally able to spot a lone worker and enquire, I was informed that it'd sold out (that's funny as it never even arrived in the shop) and there are no more copies available - even to back order.

I really want to support physical shops and have resisted subscribing to the mag, or even shopping online in general, in an attempt to help pay retail staff's wages. The staff in this store are down to a skeleton crew as it is (they do always seem polite and courteous though - so this review isn't a reflection on them) but I can't see their business lasting much longer if they can't get a few basics right.

I will now no longer be returning to this shop as I've bit the bullet and coughed-up for an annual subscription to be delivered direct to my door so as not to miss any further editions.

Due to a severe shortage of staff, only one person serving, I had a 10 minute + wait. I needed to be served at the counter because the self service did not cater for my needs. Other shoppers waiting in the queue were equally not happy with the lack of staff. Come on post office/w h Smith take on more staff or lose your customers 😥

Refused to serve me after 5:30 even though I was in the queue way before then, only had one person on the desk in the post office. Absolutely disgraceful!
