Miller & Carter Chester

My expectation at miller and carter are quite high they do charge a lot. I arrived at 1.15 the starter was quite nice and the service good the drinks came quickly. But the problems started with the steaks. Let alone the raw flour onion bake that came twice uncooked.
I had to send my first steak back it was warm going cold the second time they brought me a uncooked and raw only ceared steak it was in two halves the other half was well done so sent that back the third steak I change to a ribeye steak 🥩🥩. ( I hoped they would pick out a descent steak as it was the third one) 🥩🥩 you expect some fat but by the time I cut it all off it was warm going cold but it was after 3:20 so didn't send it back no time left and had no desserts.
They didn't change for there disaster so disappointed you would expect some one like the three manager there to manage and been on the case but they weren't bothered. Half hearted approach. Now just be clear I work in this industry and this is accurate. No excuse poor. I left at 3.55 never to return

Called in to M&C to try the set lunch menu. Opted for 2 courses at £12.95 and chose Chorizo starter and Burger Main w/extra bacon for £1 extra. Firstly the place itself is very comfy and rather spacious with burgundy red and black decor and just very smart looking. The staff were all nice n friendly and dressed in black with long black waiters aprons on. So far so good. Tbh, as it was the lunch menu, I wasn't expecting much, but my starter arrived and it was fantastic! Not heavy or greasy, but just right. Then the main which for me was a burger and it was very tasty and filling (I usually have to order extras to satisfy my bottomless pit!). My friend ordered fish n chips and like I say, you'd usually expect a small portion from a lunch menu, but it was huge! Will most definitely be calling in again for a lunchtime treat!

Came here for lunch yesterday and it was lovely! The two young guys who served us were super friendly and efficient and the food was delicious. The lunch meal deal (2 courses for £12.95) was very good value for money. Will definitely be back!

Absolutely fantastic, we celebrated our 1st year of marriage!! Jakub was our waiter he was brilliant....he went above and beyond to make us feel special. Thank you

Yeah! First time in this restaurant, went in my jeans and maybe looked at little scruffy compared to some other diners as I'd been traveling from Reading, so I tucked myself in the bar area.
Loved the service, the guy who served me was really nice! (Left receipt in the car so not got name to hand but I'll edit and put it in).
Food well presented, tasty and good value as it was a special for Thursday at £30 for 3 course meal. 👍🏼

Yeah recommend and I might take my staff for the Christmas meal here.

Exceptionally busy on a Sunday night. Service was exceptionally slow. Saw one couple walk out leaving their drinks. Many of the things on the menu were not available so we ended up paying £20 extra for something they did have on the menu. Starter was nice. Someone else's main meal was originally brought to us, When our main meal eventually did arrive, they gave me and my husband each others steak. I expected so much more from this place. Won't be returning.

We were so looked after here last weekend. Lunch menu is ridiculously good value for money. They celebrated my birthday without embarrassing me and the whole service was great. Definitely be returning.
