I'm describing my son's experience. Hell. He went to university filled with anticipation, excitement and expectation. He joined in, cooked meals for the flat, went to some parties but that wasn't his thing. He left with severe depression and suspended his studies. Unless your child is a party animal, don't send them there. When we arrived to pick him up, the place was disgusting, litter everywhere and very dirty. He had food stolen, there was food all down the bedroom doors. He was woken repeatedly at 3am, 4am and 5 am as students trooped in from parties or the pub. He left the day before the fire extinguisher was ripped off the wall outside the flat and the lock on the flat was broken, he will probably still lose his deposit. He will now resit the year. The student village is scheduled to be sold off but in the meantime they keep packing people in.

Reasonable rent and fun general atmosphere.
However, accommodation quality and services left a lot to be desired. Especially the frequent wifi, water and electrical outages, our bathrooms leaking on both floors and the laundrette being inaccessible for the best part of two months.

Spar on site was incredibly poor, decent customer service in there with approachable staff. Constant road blockages stopping buses in the morning. If the village was closer to either campus I would likely recommend, for the price it’s acceptable. Great environment to meet new people and mingle

My eldest daughters first home away from home, she had an amazing start to her Uni life while living here. She has made friends with more than just her flatmates, a real community feel. The rooms are very well furnished and the buildings are cleaned and maintained well. She was very sad when she had to leave early due to the corona virus. All in all a very good first residence for students.

Lived in house 42, which has now been demolished. It wasn't the nicest house in the world but we had such a good time.

It's funny how a seemingly innocuous decision in the student housing office can end up affecting people's lives. My wife and I met in house 42, back in 2000, and we've been married for about 14 years now. Our daughter would never have been born if it weren't for that decision to house us together.

It's a shame that house 42 has gone, but we remember it fondly.

Daughter spent the last year here as studying at Swansea Uni.

New housing estate at front. I believe University selling the site this year for further housing.

Very very run down student accommodation very poor facilities. Not that cheap either. Should have been fully decommissioned as student accommodation some years ago.

To be clear to the slightly aggressive responses from the "owners" - I lived here for the worst year of my life 2003-2004. I literally would compare life here to being in a war. It was a while ago now I admit, so I've upgraded my opinion to "the death of civilisation", as opinions soften over time.

A life changing experience indeed.

Good student vibe. The accommodation is well laid out so long as you are able to spend most of your time on campus. Not a good place to endure lockdown Buildings already showing signs of really shoddy workmanship. Obvious damp issues, blocked guttering, failed pointing etc.
