I have been to third World Countries supermarkets and shelves were more stocked up than at the Waitrose in Kensington. The pictures attached were taken at 1:00pm on a busy Saturday afternoon. Bumped in to several people and everyone today was asking staff what was going on with the empty shelves! For those who shop here, this is a regular occurrence. Customer care at it’s worst!

While the prices are sometimes more expensive than other supermarkets I can't fault them on the quality of their meat. Well worth paying that little bit extra to get the best on both their meat and veg. Despite it being smaller than some of their main stores, the selection of stock is still pretty good and I have rarely had to go elsewhere to get the last of the ingredients.

I just googled Waitrose Kensington to check what time it closes tonight. I was surprised to see that this store has only a 3.9 star rating! I was actually surprised that people even wrote reviews about supermarkets, but I couldn’t leave the page without writing that this is, quite simply, the best supermarket in London. It’s the perfect size, not too large and overwhelming, but has everything you could possibly want. Waitrose products are always top of the range as far as normal supermarkets go, but what is key here is the staff. Since I moved to the area, the team at Waitrose have (genuinely) become friends! Angela, Joan, Carmen, to name a few. Everyone from the fish and meat counter to the security man guarding the champagne! Everyone has a smile on their face. Always happy to help. I talk about this Waitrose to everyone, it’s a joy to shop in! See you in 10 mins I need to come and buy some milk!

I've just had to take stars away after today's visit. Fortunately, I was with my husband and he could see how rude staff can be, he's heard me moan before but not sure he believed me, now he does.

It was a fairly busy Saturday at the front, self check out, but the young woman on duty did herself no favours by being RUDE to everyone checking out - this person should NOT be working with the public, needs serious retraining. I'm sure that because none of the front tills were working properly it only fueled her bad mood..

I was so upset by her manner that I wanted to report her on the spot (something I've never done before). However, I was running late and decided to address this here instead.

BTW I was here, it's my local, and a member of staff was shouting at a customer - in front of her manager. And she wouldn't stop. I was shocked, I've never seen this happen before.

I've just updated this review after reading some of the other reviews and felt I had to comment further.

I totally agree with the statements that the staff were rude, but that was in the past and I don't feel that way today. Apart from 1 member of staff, I find that everyone is helpful and friendly now, so don't let this put you off. My statement below still hold.

Earlier review below.

The new refit looks great but I'm still finding it a bit confusing, as do some of the other shoppers I've spoken to.
It's not a big store so can't always get what I need, but there's a nice selection of goods and the quality is great, of course.
The staff, on the whole, are friendly and helpful. John, at the self check out gets special mention as he's constantly helpful and friendly, a real asset to Waitrose.

This is a good sized store they have most items you could need. Unfortunately the service here is a bit under par, I feel the staff could 100% work on there people skills. Customer service experience poor

I visited this supermarket today, I had quite a few items in my basket and I was forced to use the baskets only till where they usually help you bag your groceries as there is no space to do it yourself, due to the partition. The gentleman at the till was in a rush. When I mentioned that they usually provide help with bagging on those tills he mentioned that they only do so whenever they feel like it. Both cashiers were horrible with an awful attitude! It is the second time I encounter bad attitude in that store!
