M&S Simply Food

This is a wonderful store. Always very well stocked and all the staff are very friendly and helpful. Parking no problem except at very busy times when exiting can be quite a problem. My only complaint is that since this store opened I seem to get through my housekeeping extremely quickly - so love M and S food and it is so conviently close to my home.

Coffee shop excellent , food store we'll set out always stocked well and very pleasant service. Added to free parking and many other stores near buy all in the same parking area. Have been going there the last 3 years at least.

The service at the till was very poor. The cashier only broke off her conversation with another staff member about their social life to ask if I wanted a bag. No eye contact. Had she looked at me, she'd have seen I wasn't impressed.
The store itself is very nice. Just need some retraining on customer service.

Need more staff!
First problem was negotiating my very elderly mother's walker round a high chair. Then had to clear the table myself. Ordered at 1pm and 25 minutes later our soup and jacket potato arrived. By this time my mums tea had gone cold. Counter staff were very pleasant but struggling. When I queried about the wait I was ungraciously told there were lots of orders before us - a simple 'sorry, but we're so busy' would have sufficed.
An apology for the wait came when our food finally arrived. Meanwhile tables remained uncleared and I had to ask twice for knives as there were none in the tray. Won't be returning. I would have taken it further but the main store seemed lacking in staff too. Highlight of our visit was a chat with a very nice Glaswegian member of staff who helped us to try and find something in the shop.

Small food store, but no queues. Easy to shop, reasonably well stocked. My only complaint is that there are never enough tills open, however since I like M & S food, I prepare my self for the wait!

Only Christmas Dinner plans I'll ever make! This is our second year shopping with M&S for Christmas Dinner and all of the trimmings. Firstly the ordering is simple. The collection is simple, well organised and clean. The staff even this year were full of joy and kindness, really lovely even my 10 year old boy remarked. Then the food.... absolutely beautiful. Meat tender (we had beef and turkey). Everyone in the family agreed it was amazing and doesn't shrink down to nothing. Can I also say that the price for Christmas food is genuinely reasonable as well. Given the times and compared to butcher prices, I was stunned at the price and didn't feel cheated or taken advantage of as you can be left feeling at Christmas. So much praise for M&S this year. Top marks!! And Merry Christmas 🎅

Huge thanks to Tracey who went above and beyond to let my 8 yr old grandson “do his own shopping” this afternoon.
He was determined to do it all, including checkout/pay, and she was so kind and helpful to him. Definitely your next employee of the month!
