In an industry where you hear all the time about people buying second hand cars and ending up being unhappy or ripped off it is such a welcome relief to have found Lloyd and Chelmsford City Cars. My daughter was looking for her first car after passing her test. Lloyd was helpful but not pushy at all when we went to look at the car, he listened to what we wanted and took us for a test drive. Lloyd did us a good deal on the car and we ended up buying it. What impressed me more than any of this was the after sales care. Three weeks after the purchase the car developed a fault with the alternator, this was something a trained mechanic or Lloyd would not have know when we bought the car. Lloyd responded really quickly and sorted the problem out for us, we could not had asked for him to do anything more, he was fantastic. I have never met Lloyd before but would recommend him to any one who is thinking of buying a second hand car.

My son was looking for his first car and was wanting a fiesta. Chelmsford city cars had a few suitable for first time drivers as well as other small engine cars. Lloyd was excellent, really friendly, helpful without doing the hard sell or following you around like a lap dog showing you every car. Really relaxed feeling at the garage, felt at ease looking around at the cars and then taking it out on a test drive. Lloyd is very knowledgeable and knows his cars and what his clients wants he is very personable and clearly very passionate about his business.

My son found a lovely white fiesta that suited his needs, once home we realised the indicator arm wasn’t working as smoothly as it should and when I contacted Lloyd he was more than happy for us to bring the car back in to have an new indicator arm installed. Brilliant cars, great customer service and highly recommended Chelmsford City Cars for second hand cars. Only advise is if you see a car you like don’t hang around as they sell very quickly!

Not even worthy of 1 star. Difficult to trust a word that comes out his mouth, kept delaying the time we were able to pick up our car to the point we just cancelled the purchase to avoid being conned out of money. Avoid at all costs.

A real top quality outfit, Lloyd provided friendly service and helped me make a decision on buying a car without being pushy like most other places I've been to. The cars were also in mint condition and there was a huge selection to choose from. The car lot was very popular and I can see why! It was a superb experience A* all round.

Bought a Ford fiesta as a first car for my son. Car runs great, and is immaculate. Great customer service by Lloyd, really helpful and friendly. Will go back for another when my other son passes his test.

Awful experience with this company sold me a car with a blown head gasket, when I asked for a refund was told it ain't happening and had to get pretty forceful before a refund was given, wouldn't advise anyone in dealing with this company very nearly turned nasty would of got minus stars if possible
