We hired the Caterham for a daytrip through the Kent countryside and were very impressed with the service and the vehicle. Will be recommending to friends

Great service and lovely people.
Such a hassle free experience and a great product. I had the Caterham Super 7, just brilliant.
Highly recommended.

A great experience! We have a great time when I hired the Caterham 7 for my mum's 60th birthday! We hired the car for the day and when we picked it up we had all details about the car clearly explained. The paperwork beforehand and on the day was simple to do and Paul was very helpful solving an insurance question for me. Payment and deposit were easy and the deposit was refunded at the end of the day. The car was beautiful, well maintained and a pleasure to drive. I would highly recommend Paul and Danewest Automotive. I've got my eye on the next car to hire!

I cannot recommend Danewest enough. We hired the MG Midget for our engagement photoshoot, hiring was so easy and Paul was incredibly helpful. The cars are stunning and we were so happy with the service we now have booked both the Morris Minor and Austin 7 for our wedding in August this year.

I would like to highly recommend Danewest Automotive Classic Car Hire. I think they offer wonderful classics and offer a fantastic service too. Having met the owners i can vouch for their professionalism and knowledge in this highly specialised area. A brilliant way to see what classic car ownership is like before taking the plunge and buying a classic car of your own. I would hesitate to recommend their service. A very friendly and positive company to deal with. Thank you.

I would not recommend hiring a car with this company.
We rented a Caterham 7, for half a day. Upon returning there was a small protruding bump of the back bumper – which we are not even sure on how this happened.
During the hiring process Paul the owner suggested minor damages to the car body would be covered. Although he retained the £100 deposit to repair the dent we did not realise was even there!
There was also an inverted dent which was there prior to the car hire. The car was already damaged in that area before our hire.
Paul suggested that the repair for this could cost in the region of £60-70, and the remaining amount from the £100 would be reimbursed.
The repair came to exactly £100. A coincidence that this was the exact amount that was withheld.
The mechanic confirmed dents were removed from the back panel, which also included the pre-existing damage that was nothing to do with us. We have no idea the breakdown of costs as the mechanic refused to give this to us, so effectively we paid for pre-existing damage, which should not have been pushed onto us.
I feel this is an untrustworthy company, I would not hire again from here and would definitely not recommend others to hire from here.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS. I had the utter misfortune to have put a car into the care of Paul Dadson. The car went in for a head gasket and some minor tweaks, the job should have taken weeks and been a simple fix, but after three months, this so-called mechanic could not get the car to run - creating more problems with the car as went.

More disturbing than his lack of mechanical ability, is the way in which he conducts himself. When I asked (after three months and three attempts to collect the car had passed) when he could hope to return me or my father a working vehicle - his email response was initially rude and then aggressive. I have never, in years of dealing with classic cars, mechanics, restorers and specialists, EVER received an email late at night to say that my vehicle would be dumped on a curb-side the following morning.

The mistakes made by this garage have cost a considerable amount of money to rectify. SAVE YOURSELF THE EXPENSE, THE HASSLE AND THE HEARTACHE AND GO ELSEWHERE

* I am happy to print screen the email exchange to prove my point on this matter, in regards to the response below

We hired the orange Caterham Super Sport and had a fantastic time. Paul was very welcoming, informative and professional. The local area is outstandingly beautiful with its countless number of rustic and/or historical attractions, great places to eat and very picturesque undulating landscape. We had an impressive lunch at the Chaser Inn which boasted its own car park. The latter was especially useful as we could keep an eye on the car.

The car was in excellent mechanical and aesthetic condition. I could tell it was thoroughly washed before we arrived. We will definitely be hiring again from Paul in the future.

One thing to be wary of is the nature of the local country lanes. Even though they are great roads, they are not always wide. Be cautious when driving and of oncoming traffic.
