It is very unfortunate that I am having to write this; Automotive solutions Bristol... More like automotive lying to$$ers.

Before Boris Johnson announced that we were going into a national lockdown & were not allowed to leave our homes for any unnecessary reason i was actively searching for a van.

I had found a van for sale at Automotive Solutions Bristol. I got in touch over the phone with one of the sales men. He explained to us the vast amount of interest in the van and suggested that we left a deposit (Which at the time we were told was refundable) in order for our trip THE NEXT DAY not to be wasted, so we did. That same evening, Boris announced a national lockdown which meant we were not able to travel from Cornwall to Bristol, especially when members of our household are at high risk from Covid-19.

We explained the situation to the company (THE DAY AFTER THE DEPOSIT WAS PAID - 1 day hardly effecting the sale) & said we no longer needed to hold the van back for us. The company were very understanding & asked for the bank details of the original money transfer in order for them to refund the deposit. We were told the office would send it over IMMEDIATELY.

A week passed & the refund was still not showing in my account... So, we decided to call back and question what has happened. The company then decided to tell us that they were not going to refund us & denied the fact that they agreed the deposit would be refundable. Furthermore, the van in question has been sold & therefore our deposit is held against nothing.

They claimed that we made them wait 5 days (Not the case what so ever) . We spoke to the manager who was extremely rude & aggressive over the phone (Seemed to find the fact we wouldn't be getting our deposit back very amusing)

Quite frankly I think that suggesting our deposit for just over 24 hours had an impact in the sale of the van is preposterous.

The main highlight of this is that we were told we would be receiving the full deposit back.

Piss take.
