2 months ago, I bought a Mercedes and paid full asking price of £7,250. Emphasis was placed on one owner and AA approved. The subframe is heavily corroded and it broke. Mercedes dealer has reported other serious concerns including heavily perished front tyres.
The manager is very busy to return my calls despite several assurances.
It will cost approx £3,500 for repairs.
RESPONSE:
NO HELP FROM YOU, I HAD TO RESEARCH AND APPROACH MERCEDES TO REPAIR UNDER WARRATY. IT IS NOW OVER A MONTH AND WITHOUT A CAR AS PARTS ARE NOT AVAILABLE. AFTER THIS I WILL STILL BE LEFT WITH £800 COST.
NO ONE EXPECTS TO PAYOUT THESE SUMS OF MONEY WITHIN 2 MONTHS. AMAZING AT
POINT OF SALE THE CAR IS ONE OWNER OWNED WITH VERY LOW MILEAGE 37K, NOW IT IS A 13 YEARS OLD CAR !!!
PLEASE BE HONEST FOR ONCE.
I noticed the TPMS light was on, on the dash, and asked him about it. He stated that he would get the vehicle looked at, and would not sell me an unsafe vehicle. After a week or so, I had a few calls with Habib whom reassured me all the way through the process of buying the car. On the day of purchased, another gentleman called Amir stated that they had fixed the issue after mechanics looked at the car, but believed there was an internal issue with the TPMS. As the deal I was offered was very good, I took the vehicle in good faith, and Amir said if there was any issues, to give the company a call.
After a few days, I got the vehicle tyres checked, and it turns out, the previous owner took out the sensors for the wheels, hence the warning light. I explained this to Amir who apologised to me over the phone. He asked how we could best solve the issue and I explained I wanted to get the sensors fitted. He agreed to pay for the sensors to be fitted which took about an hour.
Overall, I thought about my experience. I have read the previous reviews for this company, and was a little worried at first. The thing you need to remember when buying a USED car, is it is just that. There may well be issues which arise. The sales team are not mechanics. Sometimes things can go wrong with cars, and you take that chance when buying a used vehicle. The fact that Habib and Amir were always reassuring and happy to help, made me feel comfortable in buying the car. It drives great so far, and I'm loving it. Very happy with the purchase.
Shout out to Habib for his professional work ethics. Lovely guy who deserves a raise.
