Thank you Pet Vet for making a very generous donation to the refugees in Poland and providing essential food for their pets.
Things and not professional, find someone else and don't even give them 1pence. Plus they said pets will need to be sedated to microchip them, so took them to antonvets.co.uk who didn't need to sedate them, and did it eith me holding my pets, when goes to show unprofessional and they hardly know anything. Be aware vet visitors, and Goe to antonvets.co.uk
(Vicki Cox a reviewer) is so true, about silly covid rules and being told to stay outside, which I once had to do with a reptile. The vets Don't realise the covid rules were lifted.
Will definitely not be going back there. Would not recommend.
We took our hamster to this vet for an emergency appointment on a Sunday as no other vets were open. When we arrived we were borderline criticised by the vet for not being registered there. After completing a registration form the vet cast a glancing eye over the hamster while asking some questions and took him into the store to examine him. She returned moments later stating that it looked like he had a problem with his hips of legs, possibly from some trauma (such as a fall) and that we could either give him painkillers and hope it recovers, have an x-ray to confirm the suspected issue, or to have him put down. Moments later, she had noticed that both of his legs weren't working properly and told us that he has to be put down, now. We were told to say goodbye and was made to feel rushed to just get it over and done with. She gave him a sedative and we said goodbye; moments later she returned with him in a box with a flower on top. £120 for 15 minutes work and not a lick of empathy (or even patience).
But here's the real kicker; it is January 2023 and we weren't allowed in the store whatsoever due to COVID restrictions! This is the only store in the UK that I am aware of that still insists people aren't allowed inside whatsoever due to COVID. This means that our entire visit was conducted outside the store, in the freezing cold. We could not be with our pet except for a quick goodbye on a main road in the (literally) freezing cold.
The chap on reception was as helpful and friendly as he could be but the whole process felt as though we were an inconvenience the vet just wanted out of the way ASAP.
We will not be using this vet again.
