Pet Doctors Burwell

My miniature schnauzer Sherlock loves going to the Vet. Alex is so gentle with animals and loves and care for every living animal that you bring in. I once brought a hedgehog in and they really kindly looked after the female hedgehog until the Hedgehog Hospital - Shepworth Wildlife Conservation Charity collected the hedgehog. I believe she survived and is living happily ever after there.

Kind, patient with animals and very sympathetic with my low income. Completely transparent about costs and the options available so you can make an informed decision without feeling like you're a bad pet owner for having a bit of trouble yourself.

While out on a walk, one of my dogs was stung on the lip and her face started to swell quite rapidly. Bearing in mind this happened at about 6.15pm, the practice closed at 7pm and I was not a client of Burwell Pet Doctors, they told me it would be fine to bring her in as soon as I could get there. 'Kelly' took our details then we were seen by lady vet, 'Man Yi Leong' who very quickly found the sting still embedded in Bean's upper lip. A cortisone injection and some antihistamines were given along with a fuss and stroking. Bean enjoyed that bit. I had wanted to change vets anyway so Kelly patiently added my list of critters to the system and we went on our merry way. The whole experience was very kind, efficient and friendly plus a particularly nice point was that Kelly phoned me the next day to see how Bean was doing. A small practice but highly recommended.

Not a caring experience with burwell vets I had an appointment at 11am for the vet to come out to my distressed husky on the 20/09/18 I did call earlier on in the morning to see if they could come out sooner I informed them my huskys tummy had distended rock hard and was retching she told me we have only one vet in and she will ring around I heard nothing more at 10.50hr I called vet to asked if they were on their way she said the vet is still in with appointments sadly at 11.30am my beloved husky passed away in my arms still no vet I rang and informed them my boy had passed away and I said I was not happy with the service I did not get no acknowledgement or an apology this vet knew my dog was not well and in distress please people be aware of what could happen with your beloved pets
I would not have even gave 1 star ⭐️ review but had too in order to let people know of the caring side of this practice

Easy and efficient in getting our dog booked in. Excellent service and was kept up to date throughout the day as to how our dogs operation went and expected time of recovery and collection. Very detailed/thorough after care plan and choice of day/time for follow up appointment. All appointments were on time and all the staff were very helpful, caring and polite. Overall would 100% recommend.

Very knowledgeable, gave good advice re on a fatty lump my dog has. I can always get an appointment quickly and it's very clean at the vets.

Told me to ring round other vets when it was confirmed that my 8 mth kitten had broken her leg. Very unhelpful.

Lovely vets really care about the animals, always very kind. Friendly and efficient, would highly reccomend.
