VetCare Selby

I have been with VetCare since 2014, when the first practice open in Africa (to support free Rabies vaccinations). I can honestly say that, in this family, all vets aim to give the best possible veterinary care for your much-loved pets treating them as if they are our own. At VetCare Selby, it is important that your dog, cat, rabbit or hamster has a positive experience during their visits. This forms a bond that is essential to us. I find that the main difference here, is that we do spend more time with our pets and have a very relaxed environment that allows us to do clinical examinations almost as if they were at home. With this time we can explain things and have a good communication line with owners, making them part of the decision process. Helping is in our DNA and despite the growing popularity we do not change our commitment to your pet or the level of care.

As we are new customers the vet took his time to help my American Bulldog feel comfortable. Listened to what I said and gave me plenty of advice without the usual large bills. Apollo also loved all the treats he was given

I started out at VetCare for my work experience studying Animal Science and after having a bad experience at a previous Veterinary Practice where I was only made to clean, I spoke with Mauro about getting some experience in the practice. This was over a year ago now and after leaving today to head to University I got out so much more than I expected from a usual working experience. Throughout my time here I have learnt and improved on many new skills and got to experience the fast pace environment within a Veterinary Practice. Despite the hustle and bustle of a practice, I noticed Mauro really takes the time to examine and make an animal feel comfortable rather than a quick 5 minute job which would stress the animal even more, eventually leading to a distressing fear of a veterinary practice. The atmosphere is that of a very friendly one, and I felt comfortable here and as a team we always ensured the owners were satisfied as well as the animals. The practice and it’s customers very much felt like a community to me and I really enjoyed my time here. I could not recommend this practice enough for the services they provide at a good price and humbleness of the staff 😊
