Found a very sickly cat who had clearly been in a road traffic accident or fight.
Called Flookersbrooks and asked for help, the receptionist said to come in.
Upon getting in, the vet’s first question was ‘who is paying for treatment’.
I was under the impression vets had a duty of care to animals and to report to RSPCA for additional emergency funds if needed.
Despite that we offered to pay. She said ‘it doesn’t work like that, it’s £40 alone for a consultation’
We were then asked to wait in the waiting room leaving the poor cat alone whilst the Vet tended to other paying patients.
Shortly after the door burst open and the vet physically threw the cat out in the carrier, bashing it against the door frame.
I won’t go into the words exchanged - suffice to say I have never ever experienced such ruthless, soulless treatment as the Vet then refused to speak to us, avoided us and refused to treat the animal.
Luckily the receptionist was still on phone to RSPCA (45 minutes later) who eventually got a log number and necessary details for the cat to get treatment at Vets4Pets down the road.
Poor receptionist had been on the job for two days. I advised her to work elsewhere if she was an animal lover.
Vet came out to see me after the log number was retrieved and then would chat to me. I promptly ignored and left.
Don’t take your animals here. Unpleasant, not clean at all and clearly not interested unless you’ve got a credit card to boot.
Vets4Pets were amazing and 30 seconds down the road. Make the right choice.
Many Thanks
