What a wonderful place to spend the afternoon. Staffed by a friendly and informative crew of volunteers, this lovely museum is a treasure trove of history. I highly recommend paying for the opportunity to try out the spitfire flight simulator. It was tremendous fun. Free entry to the museum but please be sure to leave a donation to support this great place.

Great museum in 2 small but spacious halls containing a Spitfire and a Hurricane. Well laid out and run by friendly & knowledgeable volunteers. Free parking.
There is a Spitfire Simulator that you can book online or turn up & hope for a 10 or 30 minute slot - well worth the £10 or £30 cost to be instructed & guided by a real pilot.
A wide variety of food is available in the Merlin Cafeteria, a pleasant & spacious conservatory type place with outdoor seating too, overlooking the main runway.
Behind the Museum is the Remembrance Garden, well worth a stroll through.
There is no entrance fee, its run by donations in a really professional manner delivering a great experience for families and aviation enthusiasts alike.

What a lovely little FREE museum. Lots of personal details about the war. Enough to keep youngster's occupied without getting bored, but lots for adults to read about.
Really good cafe behind it with good coffee& excellent cakes, don't miss that!
It has free onsite parking.
It's closed on Mondays.
You can also book a flight experience in a spitfire which looked fun & I thought very reasonable price!

Definitely worth a visit in its own right or if on the way to Broadstairs or Ramsgate.
This small museum has some unique exhibits. The Spitfire and Hurricane head the bill but I thought the smaller show case exhibits were fascinating. It was particularly poignant to read some of the real, human stories associated with some of the exhibits, about actual combatants. Some tragic, some heroic, all touching.
The cafe is also decent, with good options for lunch.

Excellent free museum with small exhibition. There is a pay to enter hanger here also that costs £5 when I went which has more planes amd a small well stocked model and souvenir shop. Cafe serves good hot food also.

We had a lovely half day at the musem where the children explored the aeroplanes and the tanks on display. If you're passionate about history and aeroplanes, this place is great. The staff are very nice and entrance at a reasonable price.

Welcoming, informative and a great experience for all ages (our family group ranged from age 8 to 70s). My husband tried the spitfire simulator and really enjoyed the experience and welcomed the assistance of the instructor sat beside him. Great value and well worth a visit
