This is one of my go to places to eat locally all the food was excellent apart from my end cap rump I asked for it middle rare pink in the middle no blood it came to me almost blue you could have gave it mouth to mouth and it would have ran around the back garden doing laps and jumping with joy at a chance of a go of another life. The waitress did ask me if I wanted my piece of rubber cooked abit more but I was put off by my steak so much i just took it home for the dogs it was still bleeding blood 45 minutes later so was it rested I think not 🤔I just hope it was Sean night off because he is an excellent cook and a great host.

Love this pub. Great balance between a gastro and traditional pub. Good food at honest prices and a fresh selection of beer. I sent someone here for food last week as a recommendation. They were staying nearby. I'm told that they arrived late and the kitchen was closing but the management still went out of their way to prepare something for them. This says all you need to know about the staff here. Highly recommended.

Service not up to standard. We had a booking but were totally ignored. A group entered after us and were served first. Food was good. Really outstanding chocolate pud. Portions generous.

Friendly staff. Very busy, which was great to see. Unfortunately I was only there to drink. It looks a good menu. I look forward to eating there.

i recentley visited The Anchor and had the pleasure of trying the Sunday roast, which was excellent, highly recommended. The real ale slection was excellent too and after sampling the ones on offer, founf them to be well kept. Thanks again to Sean and his team for making us all feel welcome. A++++++++++++++++

Good vegetarian options, tried the Moving mountain burger and was quite decent. But what I loved were the chips that came with it - chunky and fresh!
