Stayed in Rhayader for two nights and had our evening meals at this local pub.
The hosts Simone and Arthur were warm and welcoming and the food and service was good.
Even though this is a relatively new venture its well worth a visit you won't be disappointed

First visit here since new management. On arrival we had a very friendly welcome. My husband is coeliac and the chef was happy to discuss a selection of gluten free options. We opted for fishcake and chips and really enjoyed our meal and can recommend. Will definitely visit again.

We went in for a spur of the moment dinner and weren't disappointed. Service was fast and friendly, good food and good beer.

The atmosphere was light and bubbly, perfect for conversation. The food was well portioned, and they were more than amenable to swaps on sides.

Overall recommend

Lovely, friendly, staff and atmosphere. Portion sizes are fantastic, the onion rings are amazing.

Edit; went back for the onion rings.

What a lovely pub this is. Recently taken over by a new couple and they've done some refurbishment work and it looks fantastic! It hasn't lost any of its charm, it just looks like it's always been that way. It's warm, welcoming and friendly, everything you'd want from a proper pub. I hope the new couple stay for a long, long time, because if they carry on as they've started, this will be the best pub in Rhayader! I'm already looking forward to going back!

We had such a lovely time visiting Rhayader and what an amazing find coming to this pub! We felt so welcomed when we went here and we got to meet the amazing owners and lovely puppy Honey too. We had our doggy Roxy with us too and she was more than welcome to come. When we back in the area we definitely will be coming back. :)

Great place to stop if passing through Rhaeadr for lovely comfortable atmosphere, pub grub and a friendly welcome.

We had the lasagne, and it was a very good portion, with chips, coleslaw and salad. There was a good range to choose from in the menu including veggie options.

We got the after dark and we had a lovely welcome. The food arrived quickly, and the fire was roaring.

Decent amount of on road parking, and a car park a stone's throw away.
