Wanted to set up an account as a foreign student. Spent over 4 hours waiting in a room that was below freezing. Only to end up with an account that I had to pay monthly fees for. Was told that would be the case at all banks, which turned out not to be true. Cancelled my account and got a free one at natwest within an hour.

Very poor service!
It is impossible to use the account due to incomplete information and advice. The cashiers are very sympathetic but the manager was unwilling to take responsibility for her omissions. The system is archaic and extremely rigid. Not user friendly at all.

Never had a problem.
Am with Santander for 5 years and have always had satisfaction. Counter service, always with a smile and professional. Online banking, for an old guy like me, a very simple and uncomplicated way of making transactions.
Asked for a loan during lock down in 2021 on a Tuesday and the following Monday, the cash was on my account. Thank you all at Santander

Probably....the WORST bank in the WORLD. Either it has online banking going down on a regular basis or branches with very restricted opening times enabling head office to say that fewer customers are using branches in an effort to justify them to be closed (yes we know your game we are not stupid), or the ATM'S are not working....TOTALLY PATHETIC.
