Keep trying to phone bank and have to wait in excess of 30 minutes.its infuriating. I need an ib number and a forgotten password plus I received a letter saying hsbc was going to charge for transfers I am so disappointed I'm considering after 30 years plus of changing to the Halifax sort yourselves out

Incredibly horrible services and the rudeness and unprofessionalism of the staff were just beyond imagination. I arrived at 3:30 and was told to come back tomorrow! They close at 5 and the front desk woman was like there's no guarantee we will have one staff available to open a bank account for you. In 1 and half hours? Ridiculous service! I said I will wait here. And while I sat, they just let someone else cut in front of me, and asked me to stand and wait for another 30 minutes. The one opening my account for me took me straight an hour to open a bank account. The ringing machine was running out of paper and it took her 10 min to get back. Too many security questions and such tedious procedures to access your bank account. There are only TWO windows open in the entire bak and there is always a long line waiting for normal business. HSBC and a Swiss bank is with international reputation but the existence of the Durham branch is simply intolerable. Either replace all your staff or shut down that bank completely. Don't let the Durham HSBC ruin your global reputation. You are humiliating yourself by keeping this brach running.

Also, when I was talking with your staff, another staff just interrupted as if I do not exist. Your two staffs were talking forever and completely forgot about your customers! Incredibly selfish, rude, barbaric and intolerable savages working there. A lot of them don't even speak proper English

The bank is larger than the one in Windsor, Surrey. And they have a Premier section, which Windsor does not. So their customer service was shockingly sub par.

I was really surprised that the Premier officer on the day did not want to help me even though I am a premier client. I tried to approach their premier guy, but he was on a mission to avoid contact. This is very annoying as HSBC tries very hard to sell its premium brand?! I was really confused.

The reason I gave it a 3 star was because the young woman at the counter was the best part of the experience. She deserved a 5 star rating while her premier colleague and the older and less than helpful gentleman at the counter, who was dismissive and not very customer orientated, deserved s zero!. Ms. Kahlbom, brava. And thank you.

Impossible to get an appointment in County Durham to see a business advisor!! What kind of bank is this? I'm going to close my account and find a bank that can be bothered to support small 'local' businesses. I was told that I'd have to travel to Newcastle to speak to someone about business matters - this is a main City centre branch, not a village branch (ah sorry, forgot that they've closed all of those!)

Absolutely pathetic service.

Just met a lovely lady called Alison, she helped so much! I was surprised by how much time she gave to make sure I got the exact right account for me and explained things perfectly. I would definitely recommend this branch and the bank now, an excellent experience and a really lovely lady!

I was greatly impressed with the customer service, Ms Lynne Cooper in particular helped me solve my issue and upgraded my accounts while we were at it. She was very patient, taking the time needed to settle my nerves and get everything in order. Thank you for going beyond my expectations!

I have two separate business accounts and a personal account with HBSC for a large number of years. Going into the bank this morning I was 'greeted' by a young lady who clearly didn't understand anything about customer service or empathy. My request was relatively simple, but she brushed it away and obviously didn't want to help or even attempt to help. No wonder these challenger banks are taking their custom away by having someone front of house who has had no training and doesn't care. I then went around to NatWest, where I have a different business and received far better and professional service

No cash counter anymore. You have to go to the post office if you don't like machines.
