Santander

The local branch is fine, but what I dislike and always will is not being able to talk to the branch direct. The second time this week I need to speak to them, going through the contact number the first time only to be told a new number can be used, why has the original number not been removed. Once in contact after going through 4 operations on the phone keypad, I got in contact with the Glasgow call centre only to be told after a wait that the branch was unavailable.
Suggestion was to call into the branch.
On a previous occasion I had asked why direct numbers to the branch were not available to be told that this method of going to book an appointment was more efficient.
Well Santander you got it wrong.
What could have been a 2 minute call has resulted in 15 mins of wasted time. So lets waste more time in going to branch to book this appointment when the so called more efficient way has failed again.
When you get treated with this level of service it makes me wonder why bother with this bank!

I had a bad experience with a worker ther in this branch aaround 4 yrs ago. She was middle aged with shrt drk hair, was abrupt nd not interested in helpin me. After moving my account I went back to the branch this month and hd a really gd experience. The girls on the money desk hd fun nd it felt a hppy place nd they helpd me open my account on the tablet. Seems like a much better place than it was befor.

Horrible staff, one woman who (probably intentionally) wasn't wearing her name badge but had a brown Bob/bun was so rude, even simple questions she would split the answers back so harshly.

I have moved my account to another bank purely so I don't have to deal with this spiteful woman.

Branch is regularly closed without notice owing to "exceptional circumstances." Despite being assured this is an 'unusual occurrence', this was my experience on the last 4 visits.

Regard the displayed opening hours as a work of fiction.

All business from the family being transferred elsewhere, where reliable service is found.

Cold unwelcoming with no customers and no staff visible. After a long wait someone appeared from interview room... Awful awful awful...
It is the first time I have seen this branch actually open. Times on door are rubbish and sometimes the branch does not open at all with no notice! Photos taken 3pm Friday afternoon!!! Empty!!!!

Worst than poor customer service, staff are rude and unhelpful furthermore in doing the bank's bidding putting customer's funds at risk. Refused to pay cheques in at the counter instead wrote the account and sort code on the cheque and put them under the keyboard, refused to give a receipt. Don't expect to talk to anyone it takes 30 minutes to get through. Unsurprisingly complaints were not available as 'they were too busy', the call back never happened. The highlight of the day was the joke playing on the recorded message about being courteous to staff........... albeit its perfectly okay for them to be rude to customers.

Absolutely do not want general customers. Opening hours are a joke. I will be changing my bank b

Appalling customer service; some staff are blatantly rude and disrespectful, in addition to being incompetent. The manager leads by example and a very poor one it is; her behaviour has been worse than anyone else's, so it seems there is a toxic culture here that is going unchallenged based on the comments other people have made.
