Assertive owner who was clear that he would service only bikes that he sold.

I dropped by hoping to get my bike gears fixed. He firmly and politely stated that he would only service bikes from his shop because of time constraints.

He signposted me to other shop and I think that is a very honest way to do business.

Of course I left with my bike unfixed, but I was happy to learn that this shop is doing responsible business.

Looking to buy my first bike in Cambridge, the owner of University Cycles sold me a beautiful, very nice vintage bike for a very reasonable price. Today when I had an accident and needed a repair, the owner was immediately helpful and kind and sorted it in less than an hour. Incredibly efficient and great service! The best bike shop in Cambridge!

Colin was so helpful and kind! I searched for a suitable bike for aaaages — he had two that fit and let me try them out for a good hour in total 😅
I ended up getting an ideal second hand bike for a pretty fair price, so I’m very happy.

One of the staff members made my sister cry yesterday. She walked in in the afternoon after her chain fell off. The guy didn't even look up from his newspaper as she walked in. Then cursed her out because he had "too many walk-ins" that week already. My sister apologised and when she wanted to leave the guy ripped the bike out of her hands and turned it upside down. Everything fell out of the basket which he ignored. Then the guy kept insulting the bike in a horrible way. My sister apologised again and she said she will leave and it's fine, she didn't mean to bother, so the guy pushed the bike towards her and walked off.
The way this person was treating her was absolutely unaccaptable. She was a paying customer treated like absolute garbage.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS !!! The owner is rude and obnoxious. He refused to fix my bike because he, “Couldn’t be bothered”.

I asked if there is any student discount because it's my first time come here without knowing any policy then he suddenly refused to repair my bike and pulled my bike out. lol will never go there, bad shop and rude person. Even though it's not an industry practice for students asking if there is student discount in a bike shop in Cambridge, he should not treat a customer like this. Then I went to a nearby bike shop called O.W.L Bikes, just 9 mins walking from this bad shop with much better and quicker service and friendly staff and worth paying extra 3 pounds. It's not price matters, attitude matters. Name of this shop doesn't deserve "University", shame on his attitude. Of course, he doesn't care about comments in google reviews and you can find similar comments about how rude he is, at least he should learn how to respect his customers. God bless him.
