Nick is very knowledgeable, honest and helpful. I have been there twice now and each time he has given me honest advice instead of taking my money! Most recently, I went to him with a long list of repairs needed that he advised it would make more sense to just purchase a new/new secondhand bike that was fully functioning. He could have easily repaired some of the things needed but would have cost me nearly the same as buying a new bike. I decided in the end to purchase a secondhand bike off him and it was a great deal.

Great service, very good work done. Really friendly and honest. Actual reasonable pricing unlike most other cycle repair stores I've been to. Opening hours aren't ideal but he is flexible and will work around you. Definitely highly recommended.

Great service and very friendly. Good value for money too. They replaced my chain ring and made some key adjustments to my bearings and gears for 60 quid. My bike feels as quick as it was when I bought it 7 years ago. Will certainly be my first stop for any future repairs.

Stumbled across this place with a flat tyre and a long way from home... it was well after closing time but the shutters weren't all the way down so I thought it was worth asking. Glad I did. Really friendly staff had me sorted and back on my way in no time, and for a great price too. Highly recommended

They're amazing I took my Brompton in with a click when cycling.
They diagnosed it as a worn out bottom bracket. They ordered a new one and then changed it. This is a major operation which they successfully did while I waited. The staff were all friendly and I engaged in conversation with them.
They also aligned the chain and polished the wheals, They had to take off the front sprocket and they thoroughly cleaned it. He tightened the adjustable seat poll and tested the bike in the rain 3 times before he was satisfied everything was running properly. When I cycled off it was as a new bike.

On first encounter I was pleasantly surprised how quick they say they can turn your bike around - often on the same or next day. But beware this is too good to be true. I got my bike back but the fix was rushed and superficial leading to return visits to get it sorted. These visits can be awkward because you are essentially telling them that they haven't done their job properly. This happened twice to me. In addition, the other day I went to pump my tyre up only to find there was no tightening ring on the valve and that the valve was damaged. This could only have been done by the mechanic when I took it there. Another time my bike was "serviced" but came back with loose breaks and a buckled wheel.

I'll not be back till they slow things down and take their time with repairs.

Mark is a legend. Super friendly, hardworking down to earth gentleman. He is an expert in his craft, provides great advice and does his best to help his customers. He is very busy during this period and you need to be patient but definitely worth your time. Highly recommend!

Edit: My opinion of Mark has unchanged. Unfortunately when I went in to change a tube tyre, one of his workers gave me the wrong size and folded it, hiding the issue instead of being upfront about it. The worker even charged me extra for it.

PLEASE READ THE REVIEW < >I WISH I DID BEFORE ENTERING THIS PLACE. Firstly, I suggest not to go to Daycocks unless you are feeling particularley generous. I approached the owner becase dropped the bike on the home entrance steps and the the front break was not aligned. I had was initially told 5 pounds to do that and asked if I needed a full service. I said no as I had one done 5 prior rides. But somehow the owner decided to charged me 45 for the additional oil and few wheel spins that was priced as full service. I felt a bit intimidated as the front rollers were shut behind me after I came to pick my bike up. On top of that I now have a bike that seems to have a problem with the front wheel. Cash payment only of course and the receipt I asked and was handed reluctuntly was a piece of handwritten paper. Very unfair how I have to pay with taxed money and they get away with this. Never again. STAY AWAY
