Avoid this store and the man! I got a flat tire as I have left the bike at home without using for 2 years but the bike was perfect fine. I went to this place to pump my bike. The man tried to pump for two seconds then told me that the inner tube was broken I have to change a new one which cost me £11 to fix. I went to a different place, my tire was perfectly pumped up and it was free.

The best bike repair shop I have used in Cambridge. Fast, reliable and very trustworthy service at a fair price.
Also has a great range of second hand bikes. The owner really knows his stuff and was able to advise me on a bike I purchased last month which I am very satisfied with. Would highly recommend for students and keen cyclists!

A shop operated by an exceptionally rude mister. Went into the bike shop and placed my bike, and the bike accidentally fell and knocked some other bike down. Nothing was broken though. I apologised straight away, and yet his response was literally "No no just leave it you have done enough." I guess some brits here in Cambridge are just very socially inapt and rude. Also very overpriced for very terrible second hand bikes. I don't recommend.

The mechanic here goes a bit overboard charging for tiny things, and he doesn't bother to provide options for replacement parts. I had a flat from a split tyre, and he put a new tyre on costing 24gbp instead of calling to ask if I wanted a used or lower priced tire (other shops in Cambridge sell tyres for 15gbp). I suppose it's my fault for not being a more assertive customer, or whatever. Also, I asked if he could just tighten up the front break with some pliers, which is something that literally takes 2 seconds but for which he decided to charge me 1gbp. Like really? Come on man..

Call around before going here to see what other options you have.

Really helpful, had an issue with rear cassette, so the chap completely rebuilt the unit and was ready after a couple of hours, liked the text notification when finished. Highly recommend this proper old school cycle shop.

Decent service but overpriced second hand bikes that will require significant repairs within a month or two. Don't be tempted by the convenient location. I've had to spend far too much on repairing parts that should have been fixed or replaced before sale. Look elsewhere!

I bought a used bike at Bridge Cycles for £130. I was pleased that the transaction was fast.

The next day my bike's gear cable broke. So I got that replaced in the market for £15.

The following day my rear wheel twisted, so I couldn't ride my bike without damaging the frame. I took my bike to Flat Planet Cycles, where I learned that the bike had been sold to me with a bent rear axle. Fortunately they could fix my bike for only £35.

In hindsight I should have bought a brand-new bike from Halfords for £160. I would have saved money.

(I also bought a helmet, lights, and a D lock at Bridge Cycles, and I have had no problems with them.)

Highly recommend: My bike broke down on the way to work and it looked bad. I called up and the owner told me I could bring it in. He diagnosed and fixed it within half an hour for a great price. Thought I was going to be bikeless for days...
