Bolton castle is a lovely place to visit. There are many attractions such as the Falconry display. The castle itself is very interesting to walk around but be aware there are some very steep stairs to climb, to get up to the top. The views are great though. There is a cafe and gift shop within the castle which you can enter without paying the admission fee. Would recommend a visit to Bolton castle.

Lovely castle and gardens. Glorious views with wonderful walks in the area. Staff were very friendly. Tea Room does some nice food, my favourite being the Cumberland pie. Thanks for a great day.

Top quality castles , lots of rooms to explore , with a lot decorated to resemble how they once looked you can also climb to the battlements which affords great views. There is a nice small cafe on site , and there are various attractions put on through the day. The car park is chargeable and cash only , however it is possible to pay when you buy your ticket where they will make a note of your number plate. Also note historic house members get in free.

Really good, we found this place really interesting, there's a good amount of the castle still in good order and it was fascinating to read the history of it. There is lots to see and there were activities like archery which you can have a go at. There was also a bird of prey display and a wild boar talk. There is a good cafe as well. The scenery around the castle is amazing. We would highly recommend it.

Visited the gardens only. Beautiful sunny day benches to sit relax and enjoy the fabulous views. Gardens are not very big so not a great deal to see. The maze is good and worth going into. Cafe sandwiches were very tasty. Lots of steps and uneven ground. Their are owls and wild boars to look at. Make sure you have change as you pay £3 to park your car but get £2 back when you buy your ticket for the gardens/ Castle.

Incredible castle in a beautiful location. We went with toddlers which is always a lottery but we all had a great time and were there for hours.

We loved exploring the castle, gardens and the falconry demonstration. A good mix of things to keep the young ones active and engaged.

Rainy day in the Dales decided to go here . Did not disapoint , the castle is part ruins but has a fascinating history. With lots of great artifacts to see . We had a good time walking around the castle the view from the top battlements was superb. I had a go of archery in the court yard , then we had a nice lunch in the tea room , walked the gardens and had fun in the maze . But my favourite bit was the falconers display . Flying past my ears at great speed a falcon. Brilliant! A special mention to the falconer a young lady in glasses who also appeared to do every other job in the castle . Knowledgeable about birds of pray , and a very pleasant disposition, chatting away to all my questions .the castle are lucky to have such a great member of staff . 5 stars 🌟

Just Wow!! I don’t know where to start…. Let’s talk about the wild boar, which are amazing and all the cute little youngsters too. I also met the most friendly feeder who also works with the bird show too.. Did I mention the bird show?! The show was brilliant, and they really look after the birds and care for their welfare. My favourite was the Raven, he was adorable. I also want o make a huge mention how great the bird trainer was how interactive she was, how caring she was about all of the animals. I also spoke to her near the boar pen and she has a real energy and drive for those animals!
Now let me talk about the castle and gardens and their staff.. The guy at the main entrance where you show your ticket seemed a bit rude, I thought it was just me but the others in my group thought the same, but we just brushed it off and presumed he was having one of those days. Anyway back to the castle & gardens, the gardens are wonderful and picturesque, with some real surprises too, lots of mediaeval foods growing and herbs too with a beehive and maze, we spent a while here. The castle is superb, really enjoyed exploring, with lots of themed rooms and interactive staff, who told stories and really made the castle come alive.
All in all, this is one of my top 3 places I have visited in the UK (it would have been 1, but shame about the guy at the beginning ).
I would highly recommend this place to anyone, single, couple, family.
