Literally the worst service I have ever experienced. Sent paraffin stoves in for services and I’m still waiting 7 weeks later! I get a new excuse and a new false promise with every phone call. I have been constantly chasing them up to no avail. Would thoroughly recommend avoiding at all costs.

Came in for a watch battery, was told they only supply don’t fit, fine no problem
I’ll take the battery.Owner then came in, didn’t acknowledge the customers and just ripped into his staff saying we don’t do watch batteries, huffing and puffing
Staff were embarrassed and customers .
Owner/manager -don’t speak to your staff like that, show them some respect snd you might get some back. Local businesses need customer support, snd staff need respect
I would have told you this in the shop but after the telling off you stormed off
Won’t be back

Extremely poor online service!!! If your item isn't in stock when ordered don't expect an email or curtesy call to say its not and we need to refund you. 14 days ago I ordered 6 x cans of primer, and yes that's the reason for the above.

This is my second review after 8 months of battling Grundys trying to get my parrafin heaters repaired. The story is simply to long to go into but the long and short is that the fob you off at every single opportunity. We have finally received the heaters back and neither are working. We are over £600 out of pocket and will be taking this as far as it needs to go. For parrafin heaters stay as far away as possible from this company. Only gave them 1 star as you can’t give them none.

Really helpful staff. Lots of choice .
Just like an old fashioned hardware shop.
First choice for me from now on as i refuse to go to the big diy place .
Recommend Grundys every time.

Please read added paragraphs to this review in answer to owners response which is far from the truth to what happened!@ New owners poor customer service compared with previous owners as far as iam concerned . 79 mile's round trip to delivery heater for service - 79 miles round trip to pick up and bring home to find not working- took back and offered £35 refund on service on lieu of inconvenience and then back home - just been back another 79 miles round trip to pick up only to be asked by new owner now to pay the £35 for the service . I refused over 300 miles back and forth and over £70 in fuel let alone inconvenience - when I said no to the payment I was told by new owner not to come back to his shop again with the heater - have no fear I have no intention of visiting this shop ever again as far as iam concerned the customer service is rank poor and would not recommend anyone one getting their heater serviced there or visiting the shop !
TO SET THE RECORD STRAIGHT
In answer to your response to to my review some 2months after it was posted!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
When I brought the Inverter in for service it was in excellent condition and in good working order - only in for service.
A couple or so weeks after bringing in the item I was telephoned to say ready for collection which I did and paid the £35 service charge. When home I plugged the Inverter in and it was dead no power at all to the machine - the control panel was blank NO ERROR CODE at all - I changed the fuse but still no power control panel totally blank. I telephoned in and spoke to one of your assistants and later that day telephoned in again to speak to the man in charge (you were away) yes a few angry words were exchanged but nothing more than that -I am not local and travelled some distance - I did apologise for my tone!! all this over the telephone - anyway I arranged to take back again the following day - your man in charge plugged the machine in and as I said no power and DEFINATELY NO ERROR CODE - THE CONTROL PANEL TOTALLY BLANK AND HE COULD SEE THIS.
He offered to refund me the £35 in lieu of my having to return to the shop again - I told him that by the time I would pick it up when repaired my Petrol costs would be £70 not to mention the time and trouble in keep coming back to the shop. I asked him if he would cut me two keys FOC to help towards my costs this he agreed to do and I was very appreciative!
Maybe a couple of weeks later I got a call to say Inverter ready for pick up and that they had replaced the external plug cable and it now works (so proves that no power was going to the machine therefore NO ERROR CODE) I again travelled some distance to pick the Inverter up - I was shocked when I was asked by you to pay the service charge of £35 after this had been refunded in lieu of my travels - I refused and was told because of this THAT I COULD NOT BRING THE INVERTER BACK FOR FURTURE SERVICE - THERE WAS NO MENTION OF ANY STAFF PROBLEM!!!!
As I said when I took the machine in it was in excellent condition and fully working !!
I might add I am elderly and not a well person and the whole situation back and forth just frustrated me - especially not being local and costing me £70 in fuel!!
I trust that you have read another posters remarks by a Mr Bailey in which it states you embarrassed your staff by the way you spoke with them - he reviewed you with 1 star - just a mention!!

My daughter purchased a new inverter paraffin heater from grundys in October 2021 for her salon . Shortly after purchasing we noticed that it kept cutting out and put it down to not enough ventilation. It was switched off during summer and started using again in October last year and straight away wouldn't work so we decided to get it serviced and looked at . After over 2 weeks wait and constant phone calls we collected the machine and started using it but sadly it kept cutting out like it did before . I decided to take it to another service centre who straight away noticed that the pump needed replacing as well as some filters . Since bringing it home it has worked like new but grundys refuse to take responsibility with any warranty as the new owner apparently didn't take any existing warrantys on . With 2 services and replacement parts my daughter has had to pay £175 on a machine that hasn't really had the chance to have worked fully since new .
