I was very disappointed when I visited this store yesterday! A couple of collective things made me leave my trolly behind and go.

I was looking for some paint and wanted to buy a couple of tester pots. I came across one colour which obviously hadn’t been chosen very much and the paint had gone off. Set in the bottom and split. When I took the ones I found off the shelf to tell staff, they then continued to shake the pots in front of me to mix them. I suggested that wouldn’t work because the bottom has gone hard… the paint had set. They didn’t really believe me but I left that as it was and continued my shopping.

I then went over to the bird seed area, all of the bird seed was in plastic tubs because of a huge mouse infestation problem they have. All the boxes had droppings and urine on the lids. Which is a massive health risk! When I opened the boxes to have a look at the seed I had noticed the mice have managed to get inside and chew all of the packets open. Again I thought the staff might want to know about this so I went and found a lad near the garden area to let them know.

I explained that the seed had been all chewed and not sellable. The staff member then rudely replied in a Sara cast if manner of “yeah….we know…. Thanks” I then tried to explain that all of the bags had been chewed open and it was going everywhere, he then ignored me and continued scanning whatever he was doing.

Not very impressed me and my wife left and went to Homebase in Aylesford where we received much better customer service.

I had an extremely positive experience at the Trade point counter at this store. The staff member who helped me (Andrew) was very patient and considerate with me and helped me sort out my order that I wasn't able to do from home. Excellent customer service. Thank you.

Staff are always really helpful. I was served by Ollie who helped me get my mums fence all sorted and ordered. Ollie not only gave me time without me feeling rushed he all so saved me money.

Can we talk about light bulbs? Life used to be so easy, but now when I go to B&Q to pick up a bulb, I join the other bemused men and women scratching their heads wondering what's going on in the world of lightbulbs.
It's not B&Q's fault, I suppose - at least they provide plenty of options!

Really helpful staff member when I bought large real Christmas tree. Service at till was very polite - felt like I was actually being served
