Golden Fleece

*dog friendly* So great to find a pub that does something other than English grub that's dog friendly. It's a nice change. Such great food and quick attentive service. Definitely be back again soon. Highly recommend.

We went for an early evening meal at about 6pm. The Golden Fleece was very quiet & we received excellent service. The Thai food was delicious, cooked to order and competitively priced. I would recommend booking a table if you intend to go later in the evening. Well worth a visit.

Great Thai Food and is such a good place to have in Elstead, there’s plenty of pubs here and you can get a burger in all of them, this is the only Asian food you can get in the area and it’s great.

I initially thought it was a strange combination, Thai food, in a pub… but when you go there it all makes perfect sense.

Lovely meal. The staff are very helpful, attentive, and clearly care a lot about the customer’s experience. The place is very clean. It is excellent to have Thai food in Elstead, thank you. I would definitely come again. The prices are fair. I think the portion sizes were perfect, but if you are looking for huge servings, this restaurant may not be for you. It is recommended that you order a set meal, which I would agree with. Thank you very much GOLDEN FLEECE.

Toilet facilities - very clean and well kept.

We drove 15 minutes to collect our Thai takeaway from the Golden Fleece. On arriving back home it turned out they had forgotten some food on the order. We called them to notify them and no apology was offered and we were told we could come and collect the missing items. On arrival back at the pub, the lady behind the bar was extremely rude and demanded additional payment for the missing items despite having to make the additional journey to collect the food due to no fault of our own. Hospitality is all about service and this was very disappointing to see. The food is okay but we will not be visiting again - not because of the food but because of how we were treated by the lady behind the bar.

Starters, all 3 were very poor. Ribs were bereft of meat and rubbery (normal Thai ones are meat loaded and tender) Thai fish cakes were rubbery (as if microwaved), Prawn toast was overly sesame filled and dry.
Main course was passable except vegetable sweet and sour veg undercooked and sauce without flavour.
Amazingly when we complained about the ribs the server tried to tell us we couldn’t tell the difference between Chinese ribs and Thai ribs (we eat Thai every month so we do know how they should be).
A good restaurant would offer to refund or replace a bad dish, they did neither.
Waste of £50

Absolutely beautiful, tasty, hot food. Full of flavour, all cooked to perfection & taste amazing. Lovely service & honestly some of the best food I've had in a while. Accompanying for my vegan diet too.

Honestly the BEST Thai food I’ve eaten since being in Thailand. Staff are so friendly who run the restaurant, the service is wonderful and I love the cosy atmosphere being in the pub setting. Get the grilled seabass with lemongrass and garlic! We come here all the time and is well worth every penny.
