Went to the Inn on Friday after accidentally finding it. Had a lovely pint and was impressed with it.
Went in on Saturday afternoon hoping to have some food after a long day of walking but the menu isn't exactly catered for everyone and not the pub grub we were expecting. Given that this is one of 2 available eating establishments in the area there isn't a wide choice available on the menu.
After asking for a simple bowl of chips and gravy the barman laughed at me saying that the chef wouldn't do that I then asked just for chips and was told it would be 10 minutes.
I paid for the 2 portions of chips and 2 pints of moretti and it came to £18.
I queried this and again was laughed at where I was told - they're not frozen chips.
I didn't expect them to be but £4 for a portion of chips is ridiculous.
I was sitting outside in the sun so naturally asked if I could eat outside where I was told no.
We came inside to eat and the least I would have expected would have been a fork to eat my food with. After asking for some cutlery they were slammed down on the table by the miserable Chef who then stormed off.
The place had just reopened and the barman was on his own but I didn't choose to open on a bank holiday weekend!
I don't expect to be laughed at when I ask for something that isn't an unreasonable request.
The menu is far too pretentious albeit I'm sure it's very nice!

Had a really great meal tonight.
A small but really good menu with everything cooked in-house which sets it well above other places serving bought in burgers etc. Plenty of local seafood on offer, all cooked impeccably, together with a great selection of draught beers and wines.
We'll definitely be back.
Please note that The Inn at Ravenglass is under new ownership so older reviews will no longer be accurate.

Stayed here two weeks ago and we were delighted to find that the friendly bar down stairs had Fyne Ales. The staff were lovely and the beer top notch. Clear and flavoursome and perfectly presented. A great well looked after cellar. A lovely cosy bar with friendly locals. Only regret we'd booked our meals at Pennington in advance and would have loved to try the menu here, maybe next time. Keep up the good work lads.

This is a gem of a place. Peter is so friendly and a great host. The food menu is not your normal pub food but we like to try something different so it was brilliant for us .Ate there twice in a 3 night stay ...excellent. The Sunsets are amazing

Very cozy pub with a view of the estuary, with incredible food, thought-out delicious vegan options (had the grilled cabbage on bean paste and lemon chili dressing starter, and the vegan cauliflower burger with baba ganouch and chips with very good paprika seasoning). The menu includes but mostly goes beyond the typical pub food and is priced normally, the burger cost the same as any other burger in any other pub/diner. The staff was really friendly and attentive.

My second visit to The Inn at Ravenglass, both times for lunch.
The first time I tried the beef croquettes which were awesome, the second time I opted for Scallops with Black Pudding and this was even better.
The only whinge I have is they don't serve coffee - And I Love a decent coffee to round off an excellent lunch 🤔🤔😁

The most amazing food, honestly the best food I have had in a long time, can't reccomend it enough. The chowder had such depth of flavour and the haggis and Chicken was amazing. Booked again for new years day whilst we were eating. To top it off great beer and lovely staff

Delicious food, excellent beer. Very friendly, and excellent live music too! This is a beautiful traditional pub in a historic and atmospheric location on the estuary.
