The team at the New Inn were awesome! We held our wedding reception in tree tops, booked up the majority of the rooms and had the team cater for us. We made numerous changes, juggled the food requirements, had access all day the day decide to dress the room and Blair, Harry & the team couldn’t do more to assist! We had a fantastic stay and we can’t thank the New Inn enough for being so accommodating. For those moaning reviews about rooms, come on guys!! It’s a historic building not the Ritz! Comfy bed, hot shower, great breakfast, amazing service! I hundred percent would hold another event here! Thank you guys!!!

The New Inn is an historically important building that needs investment. It would cost a fortune but the whole building needs some upgrading as the bedrooms, public spaces and furniture are tired. They also need a maintenance contract that can meet the needs of an establishment that is renting rooms to the public. We were a large party staying in several rooms. We arrived on a Friday afternoon to find that there was no warm water. Although the receptionist called maintenance, there was still no warm water when we departed on Sunday.
There were two positives, the staff were friendly and helpful, especially Meg who was on reception when we arrived. She was extremely upbeat and tried to sort out the water problem while both acknowledging that it reflected badly on the hotel and doing her best to keep the atmosphere positive. The second positive - my room was basic but spotlessly clean.

Megan made our stay entertaining. She was funny and made me and my partner very welcome. Excellent service and the rooms are just right. Clean and kept clean

Very mixed experience
Room was enormous with impressive wooden panelling and a lovely wooden four poster bed.
Sadly although bed bathroom etc was clean, the housekeepers made pretty fans with the towels. Some areas could have been cleaner windows, windows sills and the side of cabinet. Breakfast was also a very mixed bag...on Tuesday excellent: fresh fruit salad, hot crispy croissant, cooked breakfast was cooked to order so poached eggs etc on offer. On Monday sadly it was only okay simply not good enough for £110 a night..no fruit no croissant no marmalade or jam and cooked breakfast items kept warm in large containers.
Advertised as having real ale bar and restaurant.. not a single real ale on tap!! Restaurant shut in evenings!!

love the "Olde World" feel of a hotel like this. It has great character. Room was spacious, clean and comfortable. Buffet breakfast was fine, good selection of options. Nice, small bar attached, selling decent local ale. Very central location, ideal if you are travelling to a rugby match, Kingsholm is only a ten minute walk away. Cathedral closer still.

Ideal for the Gloucester Cajun Festival nearby. Never stayed there before, always booked up. Really glad to get a room there this time. Right from registering very fast and efficient service, very friendly and the lady concierge was bright and bubbly and very helpful.

Breakfast was lovely and plenty, staff were very friendly. Location of hotel was fabulous. But all needs updating, wall paper coming off, rooms dirty, shower door coming of, hangers broken, mould in the shower. Beds very uncomfortable
