Four of us had a meal here yesterday evening. Arriving early to a relatively quiet restaurant, which became increasingly busy, we were well looked after throughout our visit, with staff happy to spend time explaining more about menu choices, or just being good and attentive hosts. There was a good range of choices on the menu and none of us were disappointed - the food was excellent, well presented and plentiful. We wondered afterwards whether we really needed two courses (but were pleased we did). Strongly recommended; without question one of the best eating out experiences we have had for a good while.

We had a meal here on Saturday evening, the staff were professional, friendly and attentive. 3 of us had steak (I had the fillet) it was absolutely amazing, along with their garlic butter sauce, it really was melt in the mouth. Topped off with a nice bottle of red to share. If you want a treat and experience a great meal go here!. Thanks guys, we loved it. 👍

We were blown away with The Chapter House! Despite being a local, I didn't realise how incredible the interior is of this building and it's rooms. We had a large number of our wedding party staying here this summer and they were all simply chuffed to bits. It was clean, charming and had great service. The staff were extremely accommodating to us, helping us to make our guests feel welcome upon arrival, and catering to some of our far flung wedding requests. We are so glad we chose The Chapter House and want to say a big thank you to all of it's lovely, friendly staff.

1/5 review (Amended) Below is the previous review in which the owners then contacted me personally to say it was an ‘unfair and unreasonable’. I am not sure what else to say here other than the sheer audacity blows my mind. We visited you, we liked you, we emailed you to BOOK and then you never replied to us. I don’t know why 3/5 was bad when below says lovely things about your establishment. I could have off the bat said 1/5 because we felt like your communication was poor. We did not do that. We gave you a fair review.
The 2 points less were for poor communication as you never replied to us. I don’t know why you think that’s 5/5 service? The next correspondence I had was an email saying the above was ‘unfair and unreasonable’. It was our experience, we didn’t feel valued but we liked your premises. I would have removed the review if it was a simple ‘We apologise for the poor correspondence’ but I was attacked as well as the above.
Therefore, no I do not recommend The Chapter House. My goodness, I have never in my life had such a front from a company. How dare you speak to customers like that.
3/5 Review (Original) The Chapter House is a beautiful establishment. It was put on the short list for an event we had planned. We was shown around and nothing was too much trouble. However, after some email correspondence communication went flat. We originally only required some of the rooms for guests that we would personally be paying for, therefore we sent an email with the minimum number of rooms needed for immediate family only but then heard nothing back from the staff. Furthermore, after discussing with other guests it was clear we was going to need over 17 rooms to stay in. We was going to email back with the amendment but felt like our business was not wanted unless we booked the entire place out for our event after the first email was left unanswered. We have now secured another lovely venue who didn’t make us feel this way so we are extremely happy. This isn’t a negative review but advise for others looking to book this venue. It’s beautiful, the staff were friendly, food looked good. Function room is quite small but workable with a small event and secure garden. However, if you wish to book this venue, they seem to wish for you to book all 18 of their rooms otherwise they don’t seem keen for your booking which is of course, entirely their prerogative as it’s their business. Otherwise seems all good.

Restaurant staff was friendly and accommodating. They anticipated every need. Staff patiently explained a few ingredients that we were unsure of. Food was excellent. Would recommend highly. Great value as well for the portion sizes.

This is the only place I will ever stay when visiting Salisbury. The staff is friendly and attentive— they go the extra mile to make each one of their guests feel valued and appreciated. (Stefan in particular was absolutely marvelous!) I felt like royalty from the moment I set foot in the door.
The food at the restaurant left me speechless. It was so incredibly delicious that tears welled up in my eyes— eating their dry aged filet felt like being kissed on the mouth by God Himself. Without a doubt, one of the best meals I have ever eaten (or will ever eat) in my life.
This place is so magnificent. Do yourself a favor: sleep here, eat here, be here.

A table of 22 people we sat in the function room away from the main bar. Great service, we pre ordered our food and had name tags for our table. The starter was delicious and the ribs was amazing. Massive rack with loads of meat, the chips are chunky yet soft. Didn’t wait long between courses. Really warm and welcoming environment . 10/10 for the service and food. Highly recommend to anyone visiting Salisbury or looking for a special dinner.

Food and service was amazing in this restaurant. I had a rack of ribs which were to die for! other half had Sea bream which was cooked beautifully. Good wine. Irish coffees. Cocktails. All well made and reasonably priced.
