Booked over 40 rooms for a wedding and it was a prime location and housed people adequately with comfy beds. The staff do the best they can with the facilities of an older building which is very majestic-looking and close to all. The people working there are friendly and accommodating, so a big shout out to Raj, Mel, Herbie, the gent behind the bar and the breakfast chef. A very hearty meal and unlimited.

Good lower budget hotel for less than £100 the room I stayed was clean and tidy the shower was good and had soap and adequate towel amount TV worked sometimes I can't get them to work not being a rocket scientist.. my room LG 1 was fine but friends family room LG11 wasn't as clean and shower was poor with hair in plug hole. Breakfast is expensive if you don't want to stuff your face with meat .. I normally prefer just a bowl of cereal but the unlimited breakfast is £9. So I didn't have breakfast. You have to pay for parking . I think it's on Ringo app

Very noisy hotel, it was clearly a large & fancy hotel years before it was a travelodge. Every single floorboard in the place is creaky. The heating doesn’t work. The decor is very dated, cracked paint and tiny rooms…. The staff I spoke to were sound. Next to no phone signal & the Wifi is awful

What a magnificent building, beautiful stained glass window in entrance lobby. Our room had very high ceiling with original cornices and small veranda, although you could not use it. No hand soap in room on arrival but was rectified in 10 minutes by a very helpful member of staff. Good location. Only 10 minutes walk to town centre. Very well situated for 1 night stay. Very reasonable. £27.22 for midweek stay. Would definitely return when in area again. Car park on site £4.00 for 24 hours.
Would recommend

It's a lovely old building and the family room we stayed in was a lovely size with high ceiling. The floor boards were very creeky so impossible not to disturb others in the room as you are moving around. The bathroom was a nice size and clean and functional. The breakfast was unorganised, when we asked for white bread, what they brought out was frozen, there were none of the promised pancakes and bagels and there were still 2 hours of breakfast to go

Bargain price double room, booked only 24 hours before visit. Limited parking, £4 for 24 hours. Beautiful old building. Not far from town, walkable distance away

It's got a good location and there is free parking nearby, but be warned they charge for their parking on their property. The rooms are OK, cleanliness - variable. There's nothing bad but there's nothing great either. I'd say functional and minimal.

We loved the high ceilings, tall windows, awesome internal staircase, great views across the tree tops, and an enormous family room. The hotel is only a few minutes walk from the shops too. The floor creaked and a little of the decoration could have been updated, but actually I felt like I was in a much more expensive hotel than I actually was. Definitely going back :-)
