Beautiful and historic setting to enjoy and drink and a spot of lunch. If you can, avoid 1-2pm as it can get quite crowded, unless of course you enjoy the hustle and bustle of a city lunchtime. A great range of drinks on offer and the food was great but not cheap. Overall, definitely worth a visit.

What should have been a very pleasant Sunday afternoon lunch turned out to be The Worst Experience Ever! One would think that two drinks and two sandwiches should be extremely straightforward, but it turned out to be anything but.

We were seated quite promptly and ordered two drinks while we looked over the menu. And waited. And then waited some more. The server came over and took our order for lunch, even though we were still waiting for our drinks. They eventually came after 15 minutes or so, she apologised for the delay but offered no explanation. While we were waiting, we were treated to the cacophony of a small child screaming her lungs out in the back of the restaurant. I appreciate that pubs are not the child-free zones they used to be, but I don't expect babies to be screaming for the better part of an hour. Even more bizarre than this were the tour groups wandering in off the street, gawping at the interior and taking photographs of themselves and then leaving again. Fair enough, but they were jabbering away and jostling our table near the front while they were doing all this. Meanwhile, we are still waiting for our lunch.

After 30 minutes waiting for two sandwiches to turn up, my partner went to the bar and asked where they were. I should note that no one had been anywhere near our table during these 30 minutes. About 15 seconds after he returned, our meals miraculously arrived. The chips were room temperature, the salad was wilted and the bread had been toasted so long before that one was chewy as rubber, while the other was rock hard. We tried them both, but didn't eat either. We paid the bill and left, most certainly never to return.

Great place to stay while in/near The City of London. The rooms are well appointed and comfy (though there was a weird vibration that started every morning ~7:30am that could be felt in the corner of the room and bathroom). Access to the pub below is down some stairs (or through the lift if you want to go outside).

I had a reservation mixup when booking my stay (and trying to get it resolved with the nighttime staff (different time zones) was not possible, I'm almost confused why the night staff even answers the phone if they're just going to tell you to call in the morning).

The included breakfast in the morning is pricey but they have a good selection of food to order as well as a small selection of laid out food stuffs.

The hotel is near the tube station. The bed is comfortable. We love the washroom but the towel/ dress dryer was not working. We appreciated that they provide items like the coffee, tea, water, and that they were flexible on the breakfast schedule. The pub, Fuller’s, is highly recommended! Great food and accommodating staff. The challenge we had during check in was about the instructions provided to us over the phone about the location. It was confusing so we had to walk for more than 30 minutes around the area while carrying our luggages, but Egle apologized for it and made sure we had a comfortable stay.

3 stars for the interior, 2 stars for the service. Kitchen opened at noon. First two choices were not available. Settled for Welsh Rarebit which was quite tasty, and my sister settled for what turned out to be the smallest meat pie known to man.

There seemed to be a lot of staff behind the bar, only 1 of whom appeared to know what they were doing.

Kimberly and Soty were very efficient, helpful and kind. Their customer service was second to none and they dealt with the busy bar incredibly well. 10/10 service and many comments were made regarding the friendly bar staff!!

The Counting House was an excellent venue for our wedding reception. The pub itself and rooms above are characterful and cosy. We were always well looked after by everyone on site and we'd recommend it as a private hire space to anyone.

Was told a couple of months ago that they weren’t doing table/area reservations in the weeks leading up to Christmas. Got there a week before Christmas and half the tables had been reserved. Managed to get a table by hanging around and jumping on a table when it became free. No cocktails just basics offered beer/spirits/wine. Didn’t try the food. The building/space itself was very nice. Staff were pleasant.
