Picked this place at random whilst visiting family in a new home. Have to say it was the best food I’ve had in a long long time. The four of us were well looked after by the staff and felt very welcome. I recommend the herb salmon. Really top notch place to eat and drink. Will be back soon

Review of the restaurant-

Cant believe I have lived in the area so long and not been here before for food! The steak burger that I had really was incredible, was cooked beautifully and there was lots of flavour. Food took a little longer than you would expect to come out but due to it being that good it ended up not mattering at all. The building is lovely and really old school, staff are attentive and very friendly and welcoming. Great place to go for food if you're in the area 👍

My husband took me to the Crown to celebrate our Anniversary. When we were seated a waitress came to take our drinks order and introduced us to "wine Wednesday". Buy a large glass of wine and be topped up throughout the meal. My husband had the sirloin steak which he really enjoyed and I chose the herb crusted salmon, which was very nice except there was no herb crust just a little parmesan cheese on top of it. Would have given it 5 stars had they written the menu correctly or at least came to tell me it would be different to the menu

Went to a friends birthday party there. The food was delicious considering they were catering for a large number. The service was good. The only issue was the music played for the disco was so loud you couldn't talk!

Pleasant staff. Also very friendly to my dog. Nice quirky hotel rather like staying in a hotel thirty years ago. No hot water at 5am but maybe that’s not unreasonable. Different and yet good.

It's a bit like staying in a 1930s hotel. The room was clean but very dated. Because it's central to the town there is noise until 3am. Hot water is only forthcoming if you have the patience of a saint.
Service in the restaurant was intermittent. Even though it was obvious there were eight of us only 6 meals were delivered to the table and the other two only fetched after we asked for them. Food was fine - nothing special.
Breakfast was okay but everything had to be asked for instead of offered.
Won't be returning.

Having passed through Nantwich so many times over the last few years and only having spent a few hours wandering around the town here and there, I thought it was about time to book a stay over.

The Crown has always caught my eye being a contrasting black and white timber framed building rebuilt around 400 years ago after a fire in the 1580's.

So, with that kind of age in mind, expect a building with plenty of character full of quirk and charm and without a straight wall or even floor in sight in the original part of the building. Even the stairs leading up to the rooms slope to one side which after a few drinks in the lovely bar are strangely not so noticeable 🥴

The staff throughout our stay were very friendly and helpful, be sure to register your vehicle with reception if you park in the free designated spaces to the right of the car park to the rear of the hotel.

We stayed in room 2 (double) for a 1 night stay which again was full of quirk and character. It overlooked the pedestrianised street to the front and was quiet enough for a good night's sleep. Black beams, white walls, high ceiling and an uneven floor which gave you a high end and a low end in the room... it was great although a little disorientating at times when you forgot.

Noticed there was a small single room next door, same character features, very cosy and great for the single traveller.

Although there is a lovely menu and great food reviews, we ate out in town at the Mexican themed LoCo but only as we wanted a change to the more traditional dishes found here on the menu.

Great breakfast in the morning with your usual continental or full English fare... served weekdays 7:30 till 9 and cooked fresh to order.

Would happily stay here again and would recommend 😊

Roast dinner used to be amazing but not this time, feed back was given but lady owner was defensive and dismissive. I understand it is hard time for businesses but substituting cheap cut of meat and charging almost £18 is not the answer. Definitely will not be attending to this business anymore!
