Horsted Place

My wife and I are here to celebrate our Ruby Anniversary. The welcome we received when we arrived was very nice. We had a Superior Suite which was lovely. The dinner we had was amazing and the waiters and waitress were exceptional. All in all our experience here has been wonderful. Totally recommendable. We will return.

We celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary here with an overnight stay. Everything was absolutely perfect, friendly tentative staff, superb food, an absolutely lovely room and excellent location. This is our first overnight stay but not our first visit here and we will return again. Even an anniversary card was placed in our room along with a glass of bubbly each prior to dinner. Thank you to all the staff at Horsted Place for such a memorable stay to celebrate a very special occasion.

First visit for dinner since before lockdown. The place hadn't changed much and I couldn't see any signs of a supposed refurbishment. The tables in the restaurant had been replaced but that was all as far as I could see. The food and service were good, although the fillet of beef could have been better trimmed. Also the summer veg turned out to be root veg, more suitable for the winter. The atmosphere was lacking as there were few other diners and the ambiance of the place is rather old fashioned. I'm nearly 70 and even I found the decor and background music dull. Quite expensive and I don't think I'll return any time soon.

We had a brilliant stay in the Master Suite after our wedding. Staff were lovely throughout. Thank you for being a big part of our special day!

Food fabulous, from the canapés to the petits fours. The only slight issue with the food was the Yorkshire pudding that accompanied the roast beef dinner, it was so tough that it was inedible. It seemed that it might have been from lunchtime and had been reheated. It was so hard that it couldn't be cut with the cutlery available. The service was patchy, we were the only people in the restaurant initially but there were some basic errors such as lack of cutlery with dessert and no strainer for the chamomile tea using real flowers.

Lovely overnight stay. Very quiet hotel in a good location. Staff were friendly. We stayed in th Sussex suite which had views to the front of the building and golf course. Food was really nice, we had a Secret escapes deal so had a pre-dinner cocktail and a 3 course dinner from a set menu with lovely choices.
Close to Lewes if you fancy a little wander in the antiques shops or want grab a bite to eat. Some lovely coffee shops to choose from. Would definitely return.

Great place for a special occasion. Good menu, fantastic service. Will return for Sunday lunch as missed out on their garden walk.
