I stayed for two nights last weekend at Cannards Well whilst doing an Antiques Fair at the Bath and West Showground. I found the hotel excellent value for money. There was a warm welcome from the moment I arrived. All the staff were very helpful and friendly. The room was clean and comfortable. I was on the top floor which had clearly been refurbished recently. The bathroom looked new and the supply of hot water was excellent at all hours. The best till last, the breakfast was both plentiful and good quality.
All in all, I will have no hesitation in staying there next fair. Thanks Jim and staff.

The welcome was great and payment swift. There's a good sized car park. Room is small but well equipped with tea, coffee and biscuits. The shower was clean and came with toiletries. Bed was comfortable and TV had full Freeview though wifi was not working while I was there. I ate in the bar and the food was standard pub grub. Fairly decent and no complaints. The main guest base seemed to be contractors and it did get a little noisy with room doors slamming which is the only reason I'm not giving five stars. Good little find for a bargain stay.

I have been to this pub many times in my life and normally the standards are okay, but on this occasion i had great customer service but the standards of food and drink where not great at all!
The meat was tough but was tasty, however there was no Yorkshire puddings left, the cauliflower cheese was way to runny it was like water and the cheese kinda flopped together in the middle, the potatoes where over done you could see as you placed them onto your plate got to the veg and there was hardly any there and what was there looked like it had been led in the Sahara dessert for its whole life and the gravy was also like water so once I had Finally sat down my whole meal was like a swamp, I still ate the meal as I was starving but I did hurt my tooth on one of the potatoes as it was so hard I couldn't get my knife through it. And I had brought my friends today and was selling the place to them for us all to be just disappointed, also the diet cokes they had did not taste right and was almost like it had ran out of syrup, such a shame.

I stay here quite a few weekends. The location is perfect for visiting the local attractions, beautiful countryside and scenery. I stay in a single room which has tv, hairdryer, coffee and tea making facilities and free WiFi. It is always clean and tidy. The shower is lovely and hot with good pressure. The food is gorgeous, the chef is very helpful as are the staff. Breakfast is included which is yummy 😁

Went for a carvery today an it wasn't best. The Yorkshire puddings were hard enough to smash a window and the potatos weren't crispy. The chocolate milkshake tasted like milk with a spoonful of mud in it. The pork and Gammon were lovely and so were the pigs in blankets but my girlfriend had the beef and it looked like a leather boot. The service was great though. Very friendly and welcoming staff.

Myself and my partner stayed in a double bed suite. Very nice size, i have seen smaller 1 bedroom flats. The host was great (despite being a Millwall fan). He even gave us a lift down to The Royal Bath and West Show Ground, for which this place is ideally located for. Also this place is really close to The Glastonbury Festival site and would be a great option for those who don't want to rough it with camping but enjoy the festival. The pub itself has a huge selection of ciders, beers and spirits. It has a great show piece of a fully visible original well, right next to the bar. You can walk over it, as there is thick glass cover over it. The breakfasts was a good quality and solid. If i needed to stay in the area, i would definitely stay here again.

Friendly and attentive staff, but the premises need a total refurbishment. No towels, no kettle, flat pillows, peeling paint and very thin walls. Oh, and although there were 2 TVs in the room, one didn't work and the other had a faulty antenna connection resulting in intermittent reception. Would I stay again? It really depends on whether rooms are cleaned up.
