After 30 years traveling and staying in hotels through work is a pleasure to return to the chequers inn every time.
Staff are all characters with real personality and a willingness to help.
The food is fabulous and reasonably priced compared to other establishments boasting stars and awards.
Rooms are clean and comfortable.
No hidden extras for parking etc and the in-house entertainment if also free.

Really nice friendly staff bedrooms nice we were in the outside bedrooms bathroom compact but nice and clean. We had to singles this time because I had made mistake when booking. Beds comfy. Plenty of parking quite busy on the evening for parking but it was a Saturday. Meals really nice especially the homemade sweets. T. In bedroom needed to be a lot bigger I’m terrible for size of TV I know you don’t go to watch TV but on a night when chilling and in morning before breakfast like to watch. Breakfast nice.

We were in-between House sale and purchase, so were recommended the The Chequers to site our Tourer caravan in their Park behind the Pub and Restaurant, so have had the use of the facilities for over 8 weeks which were superb. We have kept in contact with friends and old neighbours by inviting them to the Pub and Restaurant for drinks and meals and every one of them has commented on the friendly staff and superb quality of the food offered in the restaurant (or Bar when we took the dog) The family that own and run the establishment are always happy and friendly, as are the staff they work alongside, no matter how busy they are.
We have spent just about the whole summer with them and they have made us so welcome and we have thoroughly enjoyed using the place as a base while we renovate our new property so it will be a real wrench to leave them in a couple of weeks as we feel part of the family now, but although we will be 9 miles away it will still be our "Local Pub and eatery" so they haven't seen the last of us, we will miss them all, including the "Cheeky Crew" behind the bar (they know who they are! :) If anyone was thinking of doing the same as us I would definitely advise Gym Membership as you may not fit the clothes you brought in on the way out! Absolutely Superb place for that quiet getaway in the Countryside - you won't regret booking! - Thank you for making our stay so memorable and fun guys, we leave you as friends! :)

We used to absolutely love coming here for a Sunday lunch. Today was our first visit with our little girl and I was extremely disappointed. This place is not child friendly at all. There was no baby changing facilities. They didn't have a high chair, which was okay cause I brought the travel one with us. They also force you to have two courses - a starter and a main, and even if you don't have a starter you still have to pay the same price. So £18 for a carvery is pretty extortionate I think. She wouldn't let us swap it for a dessert either, not even one! The only positive thing about our visit was the food, which is always lovely. But unfortunately I don't think we'll be visiting here again anytime soon.
