The Fox & Hounds Hotel & Restaurant

The rooms are dated, but that's about all that's wrong. Love this place. No frills but great staff and well positioned for all that Dartmoor can offer. I'd recommend to anyone heading down to Devon with a family for a few days get away.

Beautiful hotel/pub/restaurant. Stayed for 1 night whilst travelling to cornwall. The bar manager was very friendly. Room clean, bathroom clean with clean fluffy towels. Bed was comfy and huge. Food was great. Lovely, big beer garden. Would stay again.

My partner and I drove out from Plymouth for a lovely Sunday lunch and it was lovely. Great food and drinks. Beautiful views. Lovely beer garden at the side and excellent service from happy and friendly staff.
Our 5th visit and will be back again soon. 👍

We stayed in the field behind the pub in our camper, friendly,clean,good value and a lovely pub too. You can walk to the Moors just behind the field or to the little village of bridstowe takes about 45 mins on foot, lovely walk either way. Love this place and will be staying again soon x

Excellent base for adventurers. Very friendly staff. Decent pub food. The rooms are a bit dated but the bed was comfortable and well received after a long hike.

Called in here after a long walk across Dartmoor, the place was packed with people enjoying their Sunday lunches. We were welcomed by the friendly bar staff who were so accommodating, showing us where we could sit with our dogs whilst eating and recommended a couple of local brews to go with it. Food was really tasty and superb value for money, we both had the Sunday roast with pork and beef, very generous portions and surprisingly well cooked. Would have no problems going back here and have no problem recommending this place.

Staff are absolutely wonderful. Very friendly and approachable. Decent size meal and simple yet tasty. Were accomodating to my request for a meal to be modified for gluten free. Cozy inside and well worth a visit if you’re passing by! Beautiful views.

We have highly enjoyed ourselves in Fox and Hounds. Great food, lovely atmosphere and service with a smile. What more could you wish? The Guinness Cake with custard was marvelous. Five stars! 😊👏🏼
