We stayed at Cawdor House for a few nights in September of 2015 and loved every minute of our time there. From a helpful phone call directing us through construction on our way there, to the generous help with bags and getting settled, we felt cared for from the moment we arrived. The rooms were delightfully cozy, warm and clean. The beds were comfortable, with plenty of pillows and extra blankets. My favorite part, though, was breakfasts with Paul's lovely company and food. We were treated like queens,we were served delicious food and enjoyed his witty company. He was so helpful in providing insightful tidbits of information and historical details about the areas were planned to explore each day. From the great insight about where to taste whisky, the best places to see dolphins and which castles have the best tours. Our visit to the area was so much better, just having Paul's guidance each morning. I almost forgot to add my love of the food!!!! The porridge each morning, perfect pots of tea, the whole English breakfast was prepared and presented perfectly. He even surprised one of our vegetarian companions with vegetarian haggis. I miss our mornings at Cawdor House and if I am ever to return to Scotland, I will definitely be heading back. I do plan on recommending it to anyone I talk to who's planning a trip to Scotland. I LOVED Cawdor House!!

Our stay was short but fantastic! Breakfast was amazing and our hosts were wonderful. The town of Nairn was peaceful and lovely. We both wished we had planned to stay longer. 10 out 10 would do again!

This B&B is run by a most friendly German couple. Somehow they manage to take the time to talk to you and still tend to their guests' every needs. The interior is beautiful and clean. You get free Wi-Fi and en-suite bathrooms. There is a comfortable lounge with two bottles of whiskey and an honesty box. The breakfast room is very spacey and the breakfast options are numerous and delicious, one highlight being their homemade bread. And when they heard it was my girlfriend's birthday, they immediately served her a slice of cake with a candle :) Even though this B&B was a tad pricier than the previous ones we stayed in, it was well worth it considering the exceptional service and friendlyness with which we were treated.

Excellent location, helpful and enthusiast Host

Nice historical house very well restored, in a quiet road, yet very close to the city centre and the beach.
The staircase is very steep… but Andy is truly helpful, and also very well-informed and enthusiast about the area. Ask for anything, and he will surely know it!

Our room had a lot of space for luggage, good mattresses, good shower; however, we would have appreciated a handle for entering/coming out from the bathtub (the shower was IN the bathtub)
We also lacked an aerator in the toilet, and larger curtains against the early sunrise…

Breakfast was very good, and we loved the cherry on top of open donation whisky, in the cozy yet elegant lounge!

We don’t particularly agree with the fact that the GIANT pictures are befitting the house style, or the surrounding environment… anyway, this is an excellent B&B, and we would be pleased to come back there when in Nairn again.

Great coffee and fresh homemade German cake. Having now stayed as a B&B guest, can definitely recommend a stay. The breakfast is outstanding. Andy and Aneka are superb hosts.

We.were there (cafe Lavender) for tea, cake and sandwiches, and had a great time. Everything was delicious and the owners are really nice people.

Arrived late at 7pm or so, there was a closed sign on the gate. Looked like no one was there. No one answered the doorbell until I was out the gate and going down the road when they opened to say the cafe was closed but the hotel was open. They are known for great food and artisan German baking in the downstairs cafe since the owners are German although I didn't try any. Inside was very very clean, room was extremely clean and furnished in traditional English style. However the room was poorly insulated and cold with bare floorboards. Looks nice but uncomfortable on bare feet. Radiator was hot and on full but the room wouldn't get warm so at one point I tried sitting on a blanket on the floor against the radiator while doing some laptop work. Bathroom was immaculately clean. Owners were friendly and nice. Great covid protocol. Bed was comfortable. WiFi was easy to use and good. Hotel was efficiently run and well maintained. Rooms have tea and coffee facilities and toiletries. An OK stay but would not stay again due to the bare floors and cold rooms and overall check in experience.

A must-stay in Nairn. I've never felt more welcome in a BnB/hotel stay - the hosts are very helpful and happy to chat/provide recommendations. Location is great for Nairn, with limited but free parking at the front. Rooms were nice - we had a front-facing room and it was quiet enough until the seagulls woke up, which you'll never avoid at the seaside! Breakfast was delicious and filling - and the first time my other half has ever said he enjoyed a continental breakfast (there was also cooked eggs) 😂 and the coffee was a revelation. I also enjoyed the decor - some really interesting photographs on the walls to get you talking. They also have a cafe during the day which we didn't get to enjoy sadly. There's whisky (an excellent selection), local gin, wine and beer available in the evenings in the lounge for and additional fee.
