Oh dear.. where to start. Booked on a whim, been to Llandudno many times and felt like stopping off on our way back from Liverpool. Quick check booking.com.and booked in for two nights.. knew it wouldn't be the savoy but the damp smell hit me when I walked through the door. Our room was in the basement part.of the large Victorian building.
After a few hours the smell lifted but was still prevalent. I was a bit concerned about my clothing hanging up and if someone COPD or other breathing difficulties, it wouldn't be too pleasant for them.
The whole hotel is tired and run down. Stuck in the late 70s and poorly maintained. Our bath leaked from underneath the bath panel and it had already started to rot the door frame.
I read the reviews of the food and went elsewhere. Oddly the hotel was full as I overheard another guest complaining about her room and was told she would have to wait another night for a room change.
Staff were friendly and nice but I'm sure they put up with some complaining customers. Other pluses were it wasn't just as noisy as I was expecting and the bed was comfortable so we had a good sleep, the room was big, WiFi not too bad.
Custard coloured bath suite was a throwback.

We visited for one night for my mom's 85th birthday.

Positives:
• Beach front property
•Staff are friendly.
•We arrived a hour before check in and were allowed to check in.
•They kept my mom's cake in their fridge, so our cream cake didn't spoil...
•The reception ensured our parking space was available on arrival.
•The superior twin beds room had a sea view and was spacious... so plenty of room for my mother's wheelchair..
•The view from the two windows in the superior room was lovely.
• A member of staff did help me carry part of our luggage when we checked in.

Negatives:
•there were black hairs in the bath, both my mother's and my hair is grey.... so l wasn't impressed.
•There was no toilet brush. If there was air con in the bathroom it didn't work, as lots of condensation.
•The water was only luke warm when I had a bath on the morning of our departure.
•There was a coffee machine that we did not use, because the water container looked unhygienic. I tried to clean it but it made no difference.
•There was no biscuits with the tea, coffee and sugar sachets.
•The beverages were just stuffed into the cups, so they sat in a pile on the dresser once the cups were in use, which made it look untidy on the dresser, so presentation needs to be rethought.
Curtains would blow into the room, ( it was a warm day so we needed the windows open) tie backs for the curtains would have minimised this.
•The standard single room used by my son was not so nice, there was a street view and not on the same floor... if l had been a solo traveller l would not have stayed in this room, as it was not very well planned out.
• The TV was on a low table. The hotel should consider a wall mounted TV.
•My son had a hot and freezing shower so he was not so impressed.
•Also he had a kettle and no cup or beverages, so l had to request these at the reception.
•The corridors within the hotel are very narrow, we struggled with doors and the lift was very small and too tight... for a attendant pushed wheelchair and a second person.
•My mother had to sit without the foot rests which would have been unacceptable for somebody with a more difficult disability.
*** I was left with all the bags and kept getting tramped, as the lift kept closing on me when l was trying to move our luggage. ***
☆You need to ensure one of your feet is on the lift thread to stop this from happening.☆

•The member of the hotel assisting on our arrival noticed my mother's birthday balloon and said he would try and get us a complimentary brink, but we heard nothing after and received nothing.....

• so the hotel should not have promised,

**as my 85 year old mother was excited and then left disappointed.**

Neutral feed back

A member of the hotel team noticed our difficulty accessing the corridors. The reception met us in the hall way and offered to give my mom a downstairs single room which was kind, however my mother would not have felt save on her own ... and even if she had have felt save ....our other rooms we're on the 2nd and 3rd floors, which in my opinion would have been too far away from her.

Summary
Lovely location right on the sea front.. with so much to see and do. We heard dogs in the hotel rooms, so it's nice that the hotel is pet-friendly.
If you do have a disabled family member ask for a ground floor room or ensure your room is close to the lift as possible.

This is a good place to stay for anyone fit and able. The cost of a superior twin room and standard room was offered at a good rate.

Downstairs areas looked pleasant, but it would have been too awkward to manoeuvre my mom in her wheelchair from our room to these areas, so once we returned to the hotel we would go directly back to the room.

l would not have managed the corridors and lift if l hadn't had help from my son.

We did not stay for breakfast, as it was not included in the room cost.

Sadly l won't be bringing my mom back to this hotel, as the negatives outweigh the positives.

The thing that makes this hotel are wonderful staff. So helpful and friendly, without exception!
Five stars to the chefs and dining room too. The food was exceptionally good and the menu, although small catered very well to the clientele.
Loved every meal and great breakfasts.

Room was OK keep awake at night with a dripping shower.
Room in need of a bit of modernisation.
Not much of a view for 3 night at a cost of £255 around think that just a wee bit steep.
Food was lovely staff all friendly and helpful. All in all was good brake.

The room and bathroom were filthy, really didn't look as though they had been cleaned for many weeks/months, curtains were falling apart, pillowcases were covered in mildew stains. The lift seemed to be on its last legs, manufacturer notice inside stated four persons maximum, hotel had pinned a sign on the outside of it stating only two persons, they clearly knew something the guests didn't! The inside of the lift door was covered in what looked like drips of coffee, it had not been cleaned for months/years, it cranked its way up and down sounding like an increasingly threatening roll of thunder. Meals were pitiful, some would not have sustained a four year old child, coffee has to be purchased from the bar separately, which entailed walking through a crowded dining room carrying it to your table. Staff were permanently poised to whip away plates and bowls as soon as cutlery was put down, we assumed this was to ensure an empty dining room as soon as possible.
Best decision is simply do not stay at this hotel.

Good position for views of sea. Bit of a walk for the pier. Parking on the street so variable. Tiny lift. No vegetarian breakfast offered though non dairy milk available. Everything worked and rooms clean.

A great hotel, location excellent, room 101 with sea view is large and very clean and in good condition the bed is very comfortable the linen and towels are very good. The restaurant is large and clean, the food was a good choice and always hot. All the staff were excellent and very polite with nothing to much trouble, we came with a coach party for the weekend. We would recommend this hotel

Nice hotel, right on the seafront. Our room had lovely sea view. Food was very good and plentiful. The Hotel is a little way out of town centre - about 15 minutes walk.
