Came a couple of days after it re-opened after their annual closure. Couldn’t sit where we requested on booking. Shoved in a corner of the pub and forgotten about. No interaction from staff quick and short turn around like they didn’t want us there. Food was ok however, small portions and very cold. Not worth the money had better meals elsewhere locally.

Attended for Sunday lunch today. Staff weren't exactly brimming with happiness and I had to chase someone down to get some plates for our meal (the meal had arrived in serving bowls but no plates to dine from). Mash would've been a better offering than Dauphenoise Potatoes too. Tasty, buy have had much better elsewhere.

Limited Sunday lunch menu. Only roast on offer was a whole chicken to share and only 1 of those available. There were 5 in our party.

A pub lunch of beautifully prepared sandwiches was delivered in a very short time. They were tasty and generously provided with Salad.

Dinner with friends on Thursday evening. Excellent menu, food beautifully cooked to order, friendly, efficient service. If you're in the area, it's a must!

Pleasant comfortable family run hotel - although it's up for sale as the owners are seeking to retire, so standards are not what they have been in the past.

(Nov 2022) It was so lovely to return. Warm welcome. Very friendly staff. Good beers and steak and chips was fantastic. Asked for rare and it can back perfectly cooked. I even stayed in the same room (single bed) as last time.
(March 2020) This was the last place I stayed before the pandemic. Lovely place.
