The practice's engagement with the elderly is shocking. A relative repeatedly asked by the receptionists to access things via the internet which she and many others don't even have. Telephone appointments where she is talked at not listened to. 2 stars only because of 1 excellent nurse who actually saw her face to face on 1 occasion.

To other reviewers....Be careful what you wish for !
My experience of the Team and the facilities has been excellent from the top to the bottom....It is the NHS primary care that has become switched over to Telephone Triage. GP's & staff really striving to offer good service.

Spent 1 minuit 30 seconds listening to a robot to then be told you can only book appointments for the same day and you have to phone at 8 am in the morning. C'mon, whos running this show? how are working people that may work away or have to be at work unless arranged cover suppose to see a doctor?

I'd love to be able to give this review 0 stars but the system will not let me. Just like the receptionist who answered my phone call who wouldn't let me explain my situation.
When she answered the phone, I explained I was staying in the village on holiday and I immediately got shot down and got told 'As you are a temporary visitor here, no doctors are available to see you. You will need to contact another surgery or dial 111'. I never got the chance to explain that I had tested positive for Covid and that the NHS had emailed to say I could take part in a drug trial available from this medical ctr and that I am vulnerable due to my health situation.
I'm not special expecting different treatment than anybody else, I was telephoning for advice to see if they could help me while in the village.
Unfortunately I was never given the chance to explain anything.

I have recently relocated to Somerset from East Sussex.
As I live in Stoke sub Hamdon I decided to sign onto the local surgery.

I have received professional welcoming friendly advice and support from the moment I signed up.

Nothing has been too much trouble and I class myself as quite a complicated patient !! with quite a few different needs.

Doctor Blaydes has always been extemely attentive and helpful in assisting me with my physical needs and has done the necessary referrals with no problems at all and dealt with them very swiftly which I am extremely grateful for.

The team on reception have always been most welcoming and on occasion when I was running low on a repeat prescription as a one off they have very kindly gone out of their way to get it prescribed and sent to the adjacent extemely useful chemist next door.

This happens to be open till half past six majority of days so very helpful for those who work full time.

I feel very blessed to have such an excellent doctors surgery on my doorstep and whenever I have had to phone am always only no 1 in the queue !!

In East Sussex I was invariably number 18 or so !! So again excellent prompt responsive communication with very friendly helpful staff on the other end .

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the staff at Hamdon Medical centre for always providing excellent customer service, care , support and ongoing advice and guidance where necessary.

Where to start. rude receptionists with terrible attitudes.
Three day wait for an appointment for my 4 year old daughter which I had to fight for, multiple phone calls and insisting that she couldn't be diagnosed over the phone.
Incorrect medication prescribed and prescriptions not being sent across to the pharmacy when I had been assured they had been.
I dread having to contact the surgery I really do, it's gotten much worse since being taken over by Symphony.
Avoid if you're lucky enough for that to be an option.

Dr Blaydes and Benning have been really helpful the last few months. Always reassuring and take the time to listen. The admin staff are really nice and helpful too. Thank you!

Dire just dire, the locums are good but the resident female doctor is terrible, I did a degree in sports science and can say for a fact what she told me was not only completely wrong but dam right dangerous. I think she gets paid to get everyone on anti depression meds. Avoid in fact run for your life!
