Always had a good service from this retailer in the past but recently ordered some walking boots on line as a gift for my daughter using Nectar's Partner Offers. My order was made and payment taken, it appeared that I was getting a good deal because the shoes were discounted as part of the Nectar partner offer. Bonus, or so I thought.
I received confirmation email of the order and was advised of a 7 day delivery window. On day 6 I contacted MW as I still hadn't received any dispatch notification. I had to use the annoying chat system on their website as there is no telephone number to speak to anyone... their response is that there is nothing they can do because they are encountering delays due to a logistics issue.
Can I collect the item from a local store I asked...
Erm', no afraid not, all our in store collections are all on stop at the moment due to a warehousing systems overhaul. was the response
Okay, then I'll have a refund please, I said.
I can visit my local store and purchase them today because I'm not prepared to wait any longer than you promised so please cancel my order.
I was told to wait for a confirmation email between the chat person and warehouse systems to arrange cancellation and a refund... I'm still waiting. No email and no refund..
but, I HAVE had an email to say thanks for raising an issue on the online system, and that my goods will arrive with Hermes tomorrow - or sooner.

I visited my local MW store this afternoon and purchased the same boots I had ordered.
Not only were they cheaper than the pair I had on order, they also had an additional 20% discount in store - so they are SIGNIFICANTLY CHEAPER, plus, I have them in my possession.
Shoddy service, poor project management on behalf of the warehouse, this cant be blamed on the carriers, they are not at fault on this occasion. Its all down to MW and this distribution glitch plus a total lack of customer service and communication.
I still want a refund.
