Max Spielmann

Went in having created a huge collage on Canva, not knowing if the machines would even accept it as good quality - Megan went above and beyond while we shopped elsewhere to try everything and print it off for us in high Def so it looked fantastic. Couldn't have done it without her - thank you Megan! Mother in law will be very happy with the present now!

A novice to instant printing, I quickly needed help and Olivia was very knowledgeable, friendly and professional in helping me as well as helping others and getting her work done behind the desk. A real credit to the company. Thank you Olivia.

the photographer was doing it in a rush, as it was my passport photo, she said it will be okay to use in the passport asi had little experience. so i payed 13 pounds for 4 photos and in the end when i sent through my photo to the documents they said it wasnt eligible to use that photo and so i had to re take it and also they couldnt refund any money. Its not worth the hassle just go to a photo booth as its cheaper and gets the job done

Easy to use machines reasonable prices

Humourless assistant who took terrible passport photos without any interest in doing a good job. £13 charge too which is double the going rate. Skip this place and use their machine in the Post Office further on. The service is prob better!

Passport photo was taken in a rush by photographer. It is not straight and lopsided. Not bothering to check or retake another photo. Avoid this place for any passport photo taking at all cost.

On 13th Nov, evening 5:55 I have deliberately phoned in to ask for blue background photo whether Max Spielmann could do the blue background photo for me. The person who answered my phone call sounds very convincing, also advised me to go in early as shop could be busy.

So, on 14th Nov morning around 10:30am, I went to the shop there was a lady seem to be so busy on her mobile, not even bother to greet and whether she can serve us as customer. After explaining to her I will need a blue background photo to be done, before she give any attempts, she said no, we only do green, grey and white background photos. Again, I have explained to her, someone told me it is doable and ask me to come in early in the morning. Very disappointed, she didn't seem to care despite asking her politely to find out from the person who told me yesterday. She didn't even want to try but say she didn't know who is the person.

No need mention, of course upset customer like me, just walk away and when we walked into the Westmead shopping, we saw the Timpson shop did the photo! Bingo! we went to ask the guy, he pointed us to Max Spielmann! Believe it or not, they are under same parent company and the guy was SUPER HELPFUL and he said the Max Spielmann should be able to do that.

We were stunned and my jaw dropped! We told him, we just came from that shop and the lady refuse to help and say they don't do it! The Timpson guy went extra miles for us, he phone the Max Spielmann for us! But guess what, I think they lady on duty must be too busy playing with her phone, she didn't pick up, so the Timpson guy actually walk to the Max Spielmann and he came back to let us know, she should do it now and asked us to go back to her! and guess what? extra £5 just because we needed it for blue background! so 4 photos, in total of £19.90 ! what a day time robbing photo shop! I do feel sorry for the Timpson guy, he was genuinely so sweet and helpful.

Moral of the long stories above:
1.) Never ever go back to Max Spielmann again.
2.) Unprofessional staff and doesn't even attempt to help despite explaining the situation.
3.) Super expensive! End up we manage to find a excellent customer service photo shop in Aldershot (Picturica- 38 Station Rd, Aldershot GU11 1HT), and guess what? £10 for 8 photos. I am glad that we end up didn't go back to Max Spielmann because we were so desperately needed the photo to be done.
4.) Always look for another photo shop, trust your gut instinct, it is expensive and day time robbing.
5.) I feel so sorry for the Max Spielmann's owner because such a staff been hired to do the job but sitting on their bottom to play phone, shame on you and you didn't manage to rob me.
6.) Staff not being trained well to perform the job (such as changing to blue background). Amazingly, they do take green background photo!
