Post Office

Honestly no idea why they even employ staff here. Everytime I’ve gone in there, the post office staff are unhappy and unwilling to help. I went down today to return a parcel and the self scans were both out of use, so I took my place in the queue and watched one of the cashiers snub and dismiss every single person ahead of me. It came to my turn and I was served by a lady of Indian descent (at the time I counted my blessings that I wasn’t served by the brunette cashier since she clearly had an attitude problem) but she was as useless as a chocolate teapot!

Royal Mail - train your staff on customer service or invest in a load of self check outs so we can avoid the abuse of your staff.

Absolutely disgraceful service, if you hate your job so much, then quit! staff are rude, obnoxious and bad mannered, everything is a hindrance to them, they huff and sigh about everthing, under there breath make comments and make customers feel uncomfortable. Awful awful service. Full complaint will be made to the post office.

I am not surprised to read the reviews! In 20 years of using a post office daily I have never seen such an awful attitude towards customers than I did today . The woman behind the travel booth (Sarah the MANAGER) was rude to EVERY SINGLE CUSTOMER. I watched her shout at an OAP because she was struggling with her pin No. Tell a young foreign couple talking in slightly broken English to "come back when they can speak English" because she didn't have the patience to help them. Every customer was huffs, puffs, moans, groans, muttering under her breath, eye rolls. My experience was the most shocking but my company have started an official compliant and WH Smith has launched an investigation. I really hope once the CCTV footage is reviewed they dismiss Sara. She does not belong in any job that requires any level of customer service skills.

Went to collect a parcel, was told I couldn’t have it because my tracking number didn’t match but my address and name did. Showed ID and she said it wasn’t good enough. Asked to have a look at my own parcel and was told no because I might steal it. Managed to get her to stand with it in her hands so I could read the tracking number. Turned out it had and international tracking number as it came from Europe and a UK tracking number when it landed. I had the international info on my phone which matched up. After lots of back and forth arguments and rudeness from the lady she eventually gave in after her colleague agreed with me and I could actually get my own parcel… WITH MY NAME AND ADDRESS ON IT. I mean who else is going to have my name and address and my ID and passport to steal a parcel worth about £5 🙄

Staff arguing, and being made to open a parcel for a kids Christmas present. I didn’t know what it was so was told we can’t post it unless we see it. What a joke of a place. Package opened and gift unwrapped. It was soap…………….

Abysmal service, post office has been closed for the last two days, no replacement staff put in, people unable to access their pensions, pay rent or top up energy cards etc.

Absolutely appalling customer service. So rude & very unhelpful. Literally stood and watched them shout at customers. Should have never closed the main post office.
Been in 4 times for a passport check and been sent away every time.

The staff there are clearly unhappy in their job. My suggestion to them is to just leave and work somewhere else. I truly think the despise customers.
Another level of anger and rudeness. I feel like they possibly need counselling or something 🤷
