I was looking for a swimming trunk for kids and as I couldn’t find any I saw couple of your employees working on the shop floor so I approached them and asked politely for assistance. Just to reiterate that this was my third visit to the store in the last few weeks looking for the same item. As I asked the member of staff gave me a dirty look but no reply. I have insisted thinking that maybe they did not hear me. This time they asked me very rudely and I quote “ Yes what do you want?”. I was shocked by the attitude and took me a few moments to gather myself and repeat yet again my query to them. Then the reply was even more rude and shouted, and again I quote “ If is not on the shop floor we don’t have.”
As I was trying to explain to them politely that this was my third visit to the store in the look for this item the lady , who apparently was the store manager called Jo, told me and I quote” If you can’t find it then don’t come back to the store again.” As my son was next to me he asked why this lady is so rude to us? I would like to know how do I explain to a 8 year old child that it’s ok to be treated this way in public.
I have never been so humiliated and disrespected in my life. I have been a customer of this store for the past 15 years and never ever experienced such an appalling and outrageous behaviour. Also I feel that this treatment was aimed at me because of my ethnicity. Neither I have said or done anything to warrant this kind of behaviour from the so called store manager. Lately when ever I have visited this particular store never found anything and store always looks messy. Obviously the store manager leading by example 😡🤦🏽🤮

Best place to get your active wear from. Floor staff is always friendly and helpful.

Don't bother going in this store at the weekend staff don't want to help that's if you can find one in the store as till staff just tell you their is some over there even though you keep telling them their isn't. Won't go to this store again.

Tried to buy my son some football boots today but couldn’t get the attention of a staff member who was chatting to some bloke for about 15 minutes straight about what club they each played for. You would have thought they were in a pub with the language they were using. Anyway, apart from that, managed to get trainers and a coat for my son, that’s the only reason it isn’t 1 star

Good great stuff prices vary and cater for all ages, i would recommend this shop for your needs.

Signs in the window saying "Closing down". I have seen plans for them to relocate to the site currently 'Home Bargains'. 'Home Bargains' to relocate to a much larger unit combining the now empty former Decathlon unit, the neighbouring empty unit and the current 'Sports Direct' unit
For those not aware, 'Sports Direct' have another branch in the High Chelmer shopping centre across from the market

Store closing down limited stock. Staff helpful and polite

Plenty of space, organised process for entry. Good deals, as always. Just been back and pic asks for customers to wear masks but the 4 staff I saw were not. Even if exempt a face shield is better than nothing. Disrespectful on their part. Not shopping here again. Decathlon next door will be fine from now on.
