The “grandmother” of the retail high street. This shop has been in Woking for decades. It had a rough patch with indifferent management. Now it has a simpler retail setup. People make purchases from the displays. It has become soulless and bland. If you know what you want, this shop is OK for you.

This may not be true of WHSmith, in so much as the in house post office, which was abysmal, as staff chose to go home rather than supply a public service to customers in the queue. Three people in front of me and it took me over 30 minutes to get served. One person on the counter and the manager sweeping the floor. Still, I guess that's privatisation for you! Whatever happened to the customer comes first policy I wonder?

More a post office and books.

Rather a poor man's Robert dyas in feel.

Very empty and no atmosphere.

Like a psychiatric ward at Rampton. 😨

From what I remembered........

Cluttered store so it's hard to find anything. Disappointed with the self check out that you're forced to use. Staff helpful when you can find them but they're very often busy stacking shelves or cleaning around the store

Good town centre outlet, includes the main post office, although down stairs, lift is available. Staff have good product knowledge, all helpful.

Good for the post office.

You can buy much of WHSmiths office supplies cheaper elsewhere.

Make sure you bring your own packaging when posting to save you a ton of money!

1.80 for a 1litre bottle of water. Says 50p in big letters In very small print under it when bought with paper. Member staff was not understanding.

Rude, mardy girl on the counter who tried to sell me a filofax for £18 in store even though it says £12 on the WHSmith website and when I pointed this out to her she got even more rude and mardy making sarcastic comments, terrible customer service and terrible company trying to exploit people into paying more money in store even though on the website it says £12 proper shady business practices... Will buy my filofax elsewhere and will make sure to never buy anything from WhRipoff ever again.
