The place is fine, cozy, the waitress who served us, very dry, we asked for a rump stake and a rare beef fillet, they gave us medium, we returned it and when they brought us the freshly made ones, the rump was good at its point but the fillet was very cold inside, the rest was fine but the kitchen or the chef was bad.

Floor staff are amazing. Extremely good with my son who has sensory issues. Portions were a bit off. I ordered a wedge salad ended up with an entire head of romaine lettuce which was just thrown together drowned in sauce total let down.
Great options for kids menu and really good value for money.

Myself and my husband went to the Crosshands for a few drinks as it is now our local pub. We tried x2 different beers which both tasted like they had line cleaner in so we left. The toilets are in need of some attention. The staff were friendly and general decor is nice!

Food was absolutely brilliant. The place was clean, and tidy. The front of house staff, our waitress wasn't great. Very unattentive, and a clear don't care attitude. Festive menu wasn't even available, which we didn't find out until we went to order. Surely this should be a menu should be top priority during the festive season!

Been coming here for over 45 years & over the past few years its been hit & miss.
Waiting staff overall are brilliant, however the food can on occasions be below par.
On out last visit grisly steak & warm chips, however the two other people dinning with me thoroughly enjoyed their meal.

This is a tired old Beefeater that really needs a refurb. That said we all enjoyed our steaks & the trimmings and it was service with a smile from a very efficient waitress. Even better value with our vouchers. Recommended if u r happy to overlook the tired decor & just want a good meal.

High rated food, quick service and lovely staff. I had a prawn cocktail and T bone steak. I wanted a meringue sweet but didn't have room. Will go there again

Visited the Cross Hands for a catch up with family and friend to exchange Christmas presents. Table was booked for 12.30 and we arrived 15 minutes early. Informed the waitress who told me she was on her own and very busy. Suggested we waited in the bar area until we were called. She was abrupt. We were finally seated around 12.55pm. The restaurant was very hot and it made us feel uncomfortable. When the waitress came to take our orders she was asked what the soup of the day was. She informed us that it was best to give it a miss as it wasn't very nice. The fish and chip dish was not available. We ordered off the Lunch menu. The mushroom starter was overcooked. The main course was served hot and the portions were large. My wife asked if it would be possible to have her dessert put in "doggie" bag but was told that this was not possible. When I paid the bill there was no discount for my wife's meal. When I pointed this out the waitresses informed me that there was nothing she could do about it. The overall service was not what you usually expect of staff at a Beefeater. A disappointing experience.
