I often go to this shop after football, it’s open late and there’s a good variety of things.
I have one gripe though, they sell singles bananas at 25p each. They also sell loose bunches of bananas 🍌 but instead of weighing them, they still charge 25p each! They tell me they only sell them like this (other then the bagged bananas). If you’re wanting to eliminate plastic where possible you will get penalised for it by paying roughly 2.5 times the amount because of their policy of selling them singularly. A weighed single banana, if small works out at about 10p.
Staff are always helpful and friendly.
Otherwise a good local Sainsbury's with a fair selection of items.
When asked to provide his name - he refused. Also refused to serve me.
Avoid this store if you can.
In this Sainsbury's I've heard the manager raise his voice at the staff and use swear words right on the shop floor, twice staff have spoken over me about me like I'm not there, they don't say hello, please or thank you. I excused myself as I tried to walk past a chap that was stacking the shelves and he didn't look at me or even move until I just stood there letting him know I wasn't about to squeeze past him but it was clearly a massive inconvenience. Once the manager said they couldn't accept my £50 even though he hadn't checked it with a pen or UV light, he clearly couldn't be bothered. I told him it was legal tender and I'd be happy for him to check it, he just said, 'yeah yeah alright whatever.' I mean I could go on and on but I won't bore you. I'm a small business owner in the area and if I treated any of my customers like this I'd be out of business within the month. Anyway, I've fixed the problem, Tesco's here I come!
