Yesterday evening I went here to get chips with a friend.
We walked out very quickly as the the service was terrible , shop was dirty and the gentleman at the counter when preparing food wasn't wearing any food hygiene clothing or accessories as well as using his hands with no gloves to touch and prepare certain foods.
There star rating at present is 3 yet this seems to high for this store!

I wish I lived closer. I asked my sister tk meet me down the bay for fish and chips from the shipping containers. We got there 1 minute passed the closing time so we ended up walkinh up to Raymond's. Glad we made the effort. It was £5 for freshly cooked fish and chips. The fish was cooked to order. Chips were ok but can not fault the fish or the portion sizes. Were huge!! The staff were lovely and friendly too.

I love the fish and chips here, and they're always friendly and i think the prices are great. My only complaint is that if you go during the day, like i sometimes do you'll get cold food. I even ask the guy if the chips are hot and he says yes, yet when i eat them they're luke warm. So the next time i said to him can you please give me hot chips because last time you said they were hot and they were not. I was hoping that he listened to my request even though he didn't say a word, and guess what, i got cold food again. I don't know what more i can do to get hot food. Maybe I'll say can you cook me a fresh batch and not give me the ones sitting there from the morning, because when the food is fresh and hot it's delicious.

Loved this chip shop many years ago, so we went back for good memories sake. The decor looked really different, but I ignored the sign and many came after that but I still ignored them. Slippery greasy floor... But it's okay I carried on ordering. Thought we were going to get lip smacking goodies, and we waited a long time. Saw a few customers come and go... And finally our orders were ready. First, we were SCAMMED. We ordered Large Fish & Chips but were charged a large fish and a large chips. We begrudgingly paid for it thinking well maybe it's tasty, we wouldn't mind paying. As we tucked in, my chicken doner was welcomed by sad salad, followed by chicken bits and untoasted pita. That's not the worst, still sort of edible. My husband's Fish & Chips was freshly cooked... But it tasted like the fish was battered in rubber gloves. The chips not too far off. Tasted rubbery too... Poor thing. Had to put all sorts of sauces to make it edible. Nonetheless, he got seriously ill after that. We also got two samosas, big mistake, we felt like fools eating them. They tasted bland, hard and dry. Well that's my side of the story, anyway. Thank you for reading.
