Our 7 year old daughter was treated at L&D A&E Children's department and subsequently admitted overnight. We are not from Luton or Dunstable. The service we received was exceptionally good compared to the poor service we are used from our home town (East Midlands). From initial reception until our daughter was discharged, the staff who supported her went above and beyond what we have experienced in this country. We are very grateful for the service and I wish other NHS services could provide such excellent service. It was encouraging to see there are some health professionals who are passionate about their profession.

Absolutely disgusting. The receptionist was so rude. If anyone reads this in the hospital she took over about 8pm. Exceptionally rude. She took away a wheelchair the nurse had given my daughter and he had said guard it as she was rushed to Triage but she still removed it for someone else despite the fact that I had told her my daughter had fainted 17 times in the last hour. On removal my daughter fainted again and she did not care. She didn't care. I asked how long. She laughed and said could be up to 8 hours. One of the most insensitive members of staff ever. She let's you down as we did have interactions with people that do care. How does she still work there? It ended up with my daughter wanting to ripout her tubes. The receptionist was more than happy to sign the release form. Again 12/08/22 from 8pm till at least 10pm. Really rude. I will be lodging a complaint.

Absolute nightmare. My husband was taken to emergency and the nurse who was taking his blood was so inexperienced she poked his elbow 5-6 times just to look for the vein to draw out the blood. He was hospitalised for a week and the service was dreadful. Ward 12 was unclean and toilet was smelling. My husband suffered severely in that hospital. No communication among doctors and nurses, nobody knows what is going on, they couldn't even conclude the cause of the illness. My husband even got contracted with MRSA due to hygiene issues of that hospital. They were using same gloves to take swabs for covid test for all the patients at the emergency.

Had a terrible experience at milton keynes a week prior, where I was neglected, kept fainting from pain and was left in a puddle of my own blood for hours before someone noticed.

Straight away got an emergency referral here instead, where I underwent major surgery.

From the moment I entered the hospital until I left, it was amazing. After a few seconds of figuring out where to go by the signs, a young lady asked where I was going and took me there. The nurses taking the regular tests on me were all smiley, happy to help and had what I'd call the genuine temperament required to work in this field. They were naturally fitting.

Eventually went under general anaesthetic where the team there, while it was quite brief, were extremely comforting, efficient, and yeah, couldn't say a bad thing about them.

Finally was my stay in post surgery nursing room where I was looked after so well I felt like I was in a 5 star hotel. Total opposite of previous experiences and different hospitals, I couldn't get them to leave me alone aha, always checking in on me. General conversation, sincere goodbyes as one by one they finished their shifts.

Stayed overnight in a private room which was immaculate, everything you could ask for and more.

If I ever had issues in my life going forward, I wouldn't want to be looked after anywhere else. It's the people that make these hospitals and this hospital certainly has the best people I've experienced.

Despite spending nine hours in A&E yesterday, after my husband attended the hospital with chest pains, I have nothing but praise for the hardworking and patient doctors and nurses. He was seen fairly quickly, and his symptoms were fully investigated. The long wait was due to waiting for the results of two sets of blood tests which was understandable given how busy the department was.

Referred to A&E yesterday with chest pains. Had a 10 minute queue before seeing the streaming nurse. Despite it being super busy, she was upbeat and friendly. She sent me straight over to same day emergency care, where I didn’t even sit down before I was whisked in for an ECG.

Along with the ECG I also had bloods taken, and an X-ray. Everyone I dealt with was so friendly, I didn’t had to wait long for anything, I didn’t feel rushed when explaining my symptoms to the Dr, and he was very thorough in his questions and examination. I felt throughly looked after, by people who do a job because they care.

The hospital is a bit of a building site and they don’t have the best facilities right now, but the staff are just Magic. Thanks for taking care of me L&D hospital.

I had a poor experience in July 2022. I was admitted via A & E and placed in a curtained cubicle (intended for one person) shared with a male patient (I am female). What is worse, I was Covid positive. When transferred to a ward, the standard of nursing care fell far short of any reasonable expectations, even allowing for the current difficult times for the NHS. I could not fault the doctors, however, who were invariably courteous and efficient. I made a formal complaint to the Chief Executive, the Senior Nursing Officer and PALS several months ago and have yet to receive anything more than a brief holding letter. I have to conclude that lack of interest in the patient experience is a Trust-wide problem.

Brilliant A and E department working under very difficult circumstances Reception clean, pleasant and thoughtful staff who go the extra mile. Medical staff outstanding, ensure they listen, check advise and make sure patients stay safe by telling patients exactly what to do in the event we experience unexpected changes when we get home I cannot thank you enough
