I feel that this practice is super expensive now and not good value any more.
I am now out of pocket by a considerable amount of money because an insurance claim has been declined on one of my dogs after a lot of investigations deemed obviously irrelevant. The diagnosis was confused and I was made to believe that tests were imperative. When your pet is ill you take the advice of the vet…
I blame myself for following this flawed advice and will be changing practice imminently.
I had another encounter with my other dog the week before Easter and refused to see the vet I had had problems with before.
My 20 month old dog was extremely pyrexial and fading fast. Bloods were taken and revealed a serious infection / possible sepsis with markers raised and I was referred to a specialist centre for the following day but not immediately. It was 6pm by this time and they were all going home!
In the space of less than an hour my dog was moribund and because of a lack of in house out of hours service, phoned the specialist centre who requested me to take him immediately.
Diagnosis was sepsis with a huge lumbosacral abscess. He thankfully survived because of the expertise of the specialists but if I had not taken him that night he would probably had died before the morning.
I no longer have confidence in this practice and it is sad to leave Oliver but he is not always there.
This practice is driven by money, doing unnecessary tests and not providing the joined up care that my pets deserve.
Beware!
and a severe infection that they are not making themselves accountable for, is time to find a different practice. Horrible experience.
